Eminem recently uploaded his new music video for the track Tobey, on July 8, featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. An interesting part of the music video was that it involved Eminem's childhood home in one scene. The scene included BabyTron and Slim Shady hanging out around the house.

The 51-year-old rapper's childhood home in Detroit reportedly was on fire, back on November 7, 2013, shortly after a woman offered to buy it in order to transform it into a museum dedicated to the rapper. It was then demolished by the State of Michigan, a few days later.

For the music video, blue screen had reportedly been used to replicate the Detroit residence.

Eminem's bungalow-styled house was initially on sale and was offered to transform into a museum before it was on fire. Michigan Land Bank sent a press release to MLive, back in November 2013, stating that the condition of the house was really poor after the fire struck. Michigan Land Bank director Kim Homan then issued a statement which read:

"The condition of the property post-fire presents a safety hazard that the Land Bank is responsible for removing. The goal is to demolish and clean up the site, so neighborhood safety and order can be restored."

While the house got burned at the beginning of the month, the debris reportedly got cleared only by the end. The Mockingbird artist then expressed disappointment due to the fire that ruined his home. The rapper had spent most of his teenage years in the Detroit residence.

Before the fire incident happened, several people reportedly visited the house and the nearby area regularly. Spin Magazine reported a listing of his house from back then, which read:

"House for sale, 2br, 767 square feet, Eminem’s 'rosebud'."

It was further revealed that amongst several fans and curious people, Eminem too used to visit the house once in a while. In the conversation reported by the outlet, the rapper said,

"It may sound corny, but I’ll go by and try to remember how things were when I was in those houses. I’ll go back and remember, like, f*ck, man, how life was back then. How much of a struggle it was. As time goes by, you might get content and forget things."

Eminem's childhood home was previously featured on the cover of his 2013 studio album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It was released just a few days before the tragic incident destroyed the house. Prior to this, it was also seen in his 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP.

In 2022, Timothy Paule Jackson and his fiancé Nicole Lindsey, co-founders and directors of Detroit Hives, decided to expand their bee sanctuaries and chose one of them to be situated on the rapper's childhood home plot. According to The Detroit News, the couple then said that the plot would be serving as Dresden Pollinator Habitat.
