Rapper EST Gee endured a second loss within weeks after his artist, EST Lu Mike reportedly died in a shooting on August 12, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. This came just days after his manager, EST Big Beach, died in another shooting incident on July 21 at KFC Yum! Center in the same city.

Police reported they were called to the scene after shots were fired at the Poplar Level Road and Navaho Drive intersection at around 1:30 am in the early hours of Monday. According to Hypefresh, police found Lu Mike's body at the scene of the crime with gunshot wounds.

Two more people sustained injuries during the shooting. One man died in the hospital shortly after his arrival. The other victim is healing from his injuries in the hospital and will reportedly survive.

EST Gee's manager was killed after the rapper's Summer Jam show

EST Gee lost his manager EST Big Beach to gun violence after his Summer Jam show at the KFC Yum! Center on July 21, 2024. EST Big Beach, whose real name is Devontae Beach, was found dead inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting was reported to local authorities and police arrived at the 800 Block of West Main Street at around 1:30 am to find the manager dead at the scene of the crime. An investigation has been opened to look into the shooting, but so far, the Louisville Metro Police Department has arrested no suspects.

According to XXL Magazine, EST Gee performed at the Summer Jam with artists like Future and Lil Baby. The show was provided with extra security because of threats of potential violence. The LMPD stated it had a zero-tolerance policy for violence and would make arrests in the event of any outburst of violence, as mentioned in a statement before the show.

EST Gee is no stranger to gun violence himself. His brother died in a shooting in 2020. EST Gee was shot five times in 2019 while shooting the music video for his track Taught Different. Four bullets hit his stomach, while one pierced his left eye. After undergoing surgery, the rapper retained most of his vision in his damaged eye.

In a September 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper dismissed the notion when asked if he thought being a rapper was an "inherently violent profession." He added,

"Regular n----- is targeted every day. Regular n------ get robbed for their jewelry every day. That sh*t don’t be on Instagram or no… Is it still sad? The sh*t ain’t [perceived as] sad, it’s only sad when it’s a rapper. It’s the circle of life."

EST Gee, whose real name is George Albert Stone III, signed with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group in 2021. The 30-year-old Louisville rapper released his debut album I Never Felt Nun in 2022, which garnered critical acclaim and peaked at No.8 on the Billboard 200.

EST Gee has not given a public statement or comment regarding the deaths of his manager or artist at the time of writing this article.
