DJ Fat Tony took to Instagram on December 14, 2024, to show fans his facial injuries after he was reportedly attacked during a performance on Friday, December 13, 2024. Tony told his fans that another DJ had allegedly attacked him in the DJ box while he was performing.
In his Instagram post, the musician, who is good friends with Kate Moss and Gemma Collins showed a bloated face and a black eye. Tony also uploaded a video message and explained that his Saturday performance at London's No90 Hackney Wick had to be canceled because of his injuries.
“I can't really go into details but I was attacked last night at a gig, in the DJ box by another DJ funnily enough… It resulted in me being knocked out and taken to hospital and being in A&E all night," he said.
He added that the damage to his face and the swelling on it were pretty obvious, noting that it was "not good."
He continued to say that he wouldn't be at any of his gigs that day as he had been "advised to stay at home and get well." Tony noted that he was "absolutely gutted" about the incident.
“I'm absolutely gutted.. I'm gutted that people choose violence especially when what we do comes from a place of love...” the DJ added.
In the caption, Fat Tony, whose real name is Tony Marnach, expressed regret to his supporters. He promised them that he would move his canceled performance to January 25, 2025. Marnach also added that he wasn't in a fit state to be behind the decks.
Fat Tony discussed his current condition and canceled gigs
In the caption of the first video uploaded on Instagram, the DJ said that he was "devastated to announce" the cancelation of Saturday's event in London. He added that the performance was canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Tony added that he was following doctors' orders who had advised him to rest and recover, noting that he was on the mend and would be alright soon. The DJ went on to say that in order to recover, he still needed to follow his physicians' recommendations. Fat Tony also apologized to his fans for having to postpone his shows due to the injuries.
The DJ uploaded another video on Sunday, December 15, 2024, giving followers an update on his injuries and thanking them for their support. He also explained how his partner, Stavros Agapiou, was taking care of him.
“Thank you for the thousands of messages of love and support I'm ok just in a lot of pain and and swollen but at home with @stavrosagapiou and the dogs being looked after I can't thank you all enough for the outpouring of support remember you can't keep a good man down…..” he said.
In the clip, Fat Tony also added that he wanted to give fans a "quick face update," showing them that the swelling on his face had reduced. He stated that he was okay before expressing gratitude to all his fans as he was "overwhelmed" by all the messages he received.
He assured his supporters that the matter would be resolved and that the officials were taking the necessary actions.
London-based musician, Fat Tony has been an A-list DJ for decades, performing for Prince, Madonna, and Michael Jackson. He frequently appears on red carpets, where he attends events alongside actresses like Claire Sweeney and reality TV personalities like Collins.
Following the two videos uploaded over the weekend, neither Tony nor his partner have said anything about the incident.
