As mentioned, the Norfolk, Virginia native played for Osbourne for around five years. He then launched two more groups, Red Dragon Cartel and Badlands, and both have managed to deliver many successful projects over the years.

After Jake E. Lee was recently shot, Ozzy Osbourne also responded to the case in a statement while speaking to TMZ recently. The musician said:

"It's been 37 years since I've seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn't take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. It's just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he'll be ok."

During his time with Osbourne, Jake contributed to the latter's album, Bark at the Moon, which received a positive response. Lee also went on tour with Osbourne.

He discontinued working for Ozzy in 1987 after being fired by Sharon Osbourne.

Jake recalled his firing in an interview with Eon Music in 2018, saying that he was invited to dinner by Sharon, who did not reveal the news directly to him at first.

Lee stated that he could find some clues about his firing as Sharon added:

"My roommate at the time was also my guitar tech, and he came back from the Rainbow, and he'd seen [Ozzy bandmates] Phil [Soussan, bass], and Randy Castillo [drums], and he said they came up to him and said, 'So, what are you going to do now that Jake's out of the band?'"

Lee said that he was shocked when his roommate questioned him about being fired. The 67-year-old revealed that he immediately contacted Sharon on the phone, who confirmed the news, adding that it was one of the reasons why she took him out to dinner.
