Although a timestamp for the said recovery wasn't mentioned, the band made it clear that its European Tour scheduled in August will be canceled.

Greenwood pairs up with vocalist Thom Yorke and drummer Tom Skinner to make up The Smile. Among the three, Jonny Greenwood and Thom Yorke are also integral members of Radiohead.

The Smile has been catching pace quickly after their debut performance at the 2021 Glastonbury Music Festival and has performed almost two dozen shows to date.

Radiohead's lead guitarist and keyboard player Jonny Greenwood has been involved with director Paul Thomas Anderson since 2007's There Will Be Blood. After composing the score for Anderson's last five films, it is reported that he will be at the helm of the director's sixth as well.

The Guardian confirmed that The Smile guitarist will be in charge of the music for Anderson's Licorice Pizza follow-up film. The cast of the film will be led by bigshots like Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Wood Harris, and Regina Hall, but the title and plot of the film haven't been released by Anderson.

In the article in The Guardian that was published on May 10, Jonny Greenwood commented on working with Anderson for a record sixth time.

“I’m incredibly lucky that Paul indulges me and gives me so much time to experiment and compose. That’s not usually the case in Hollywood, where the soundtrack writers are often very far down the food chain, and are sometimes given only a couple of days to bash out a complete score,” commented Greenwood.

Thereafter, he provided an update on Radiohead and that the band hasn't released an album since 2016's A Moon Shaped Pool.

Jonny Greenwood commented that the members are busy flourishing their solo careers and have been incessantly making music and performing in hit events, just not as a part of Radiohead. According to Jonny, they need to figure out a plan and start making chart-busting hits as a band once again.
