Ludacris' performance at an exclusive party held at Lenny Hochstein’s Star Island mansion was interrupted when police and fire marshals arrived on the scene. The law enforcement presence was primarily due to the latest Art Week regulations, which require compliance with occupancy limitations and noise restrictions for large-scale parties at private residences.
Page Six exclusively reported that this was Ludacris' first time performing at the Art Basel event in Miami. This event also featured other celebrities, including Janelle Monae, DJ John Summit, and Camila Cabello. Ludacris performed some of his hit songs, including Area Codes and What's Your Fantasy.
According to a report by Page Six on December 7, within thirty minutes of the rapper starting his performance, fire marshals took the stage and paused the show. However, the outlet reported that the artist ultimately performed for the duration originally allotted to him. A spokesperson for Nylon told Page Six:
"Ludacris hit the stage on time at 11pm and was having so much fun that he extended his performance to over 45 minutes and the party went on until well after midnight, with partygoers enjoying everything the e.l.f. sponsored bash had to offer."
A source further told the outlet that the organizers of the event were quite satisfied with the artist's punctuality and performance. They reportedly said that while Ludacris wasn't just on time, he was in fact early.
"I love all the creative energy that comes to the city"—Ludacris talks about the Art Basel event in Miami
As mentioned earlier, this was Ludacris' first time in the city for this event. He spoke to Page Six during the event, sharing his newfound passion for collecting art. According to the rapper:
"I just started collecting art. I wanted to focus on it after focusing on real estate. You have to buy all the houses first before you get the art for them."
The artist also spoke about Miami and being there during the event and said:
"I love all the creative energy that comes to the city. I don’t love the traffic, but I love all the creatives and all the art."
He further explained how he arrived at the party early, even though many partygoers were caught in traffic. He revealed that he traveled by water, reaching the venue in just ten minutes. It was reported that many guests had to walk across the bridge to get to the venue.
While all the guests assembled at the party, celebrity plastic surgeon Lenny Hochstein was seen on the balcony with his ex-fianceé, Katharina Mazepa. This occurred shortly after Lenny finalized his divorce from Lisa. Katharina and Lenny were reportedly seen together sometimes during the events.
As for the rapper's performance, although it was cut short due to interference from fire marshals, it remained a highly talked-about aspect of the event.
