Mark Chesnutt is planning to perform again this year after being admitted for emergency heart surgery in the last month. The 60-year-old singer informed his fans on social media about his return to the stage after the illness.

Chesnutt’s stated cardiac episode happened in mid-June and it was a serious health issue. He was admitted to the hospital on June 16 and had emergency quadruple heart bypass surgery. His team asked everyone to give the family some space during these tough days. Because of the time needed for the healing, Chesnutt had to cancel the shows he had planned to conduct.

Within a month of the surgery, Chesnutt declared himself back to performing much to the joy of his fans. In an Instagram post on July 16, he confirmed he will perform at the Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama on October 9 for the show "Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon" which will honor the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member Dean Dillon.

Chesnutt posted a promotional image for the event on his Instagram and stated the link for tickets was available for purchase. Fans are excited as the concert is not only a tribute to Dean Dillon's contribution to country music, but it is also Chesnutt's comeback to performing after his health scare.

A month ago, on June 16, the singer was hospitalized and underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery. His team confirmed this news on Instagram on June 18. The caption, shared alongside a photo of the musician pointing at the camera, read:

"Mark Chesnutt, one of the most signatured country music voices of the 90s and a honky tonk mainstay for more than three decades, experienced a heart health issue over the weekend that hospitalized him Sunday evening, June 16; Mark underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery."

Chesnutt has remained active on Instagram since his surgery. Just a week ago, he assured fans of his recovery and return to the stage.

“Well folks, doc says I got a new heart!” Mark Chesnutt previously wrote.

The singer took to his social media platform to share his “love and gratitude” and acknowledged his fans for their “patience, prayers, and encouragement.”

Originally, Mark Chesnutt was to perform concerts in Louisiana and Texas on June 21 and 22, and in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada on June 30.

Mark Chesnutt has had health issues in the past. In November last year, his team posted on his Facebook page informing everyone he was being taken for a medical check-up. Chesnutt later revealed that he had been dealing with long-term health issues.

"After some severe health problems I've faced recently, the time has come. The fight is over. I've decided to take the time to get healthy."

Mark Chesnutt rose to prominence in the early ‘90s and has many albums and music hits. He started his music career with the album Too Cold at Home, released in 1990. He has had 20 songs featured on the top ten Billboard Hot Country Songs list, with eight of them occupying the top position.

Some of the most popular charts include Brother Jukebox, It Sure Is Monday, I’ll Think of Something, I Just Wanted You to Know, Gonna Get a Life, Almost Goodbye, I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing, It’s A Little Too Late. He has also hit number one on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart several times.
