PnB Rock’s murder case has begun, two years after he was shot and killed inside a Roscoe's Chicken 'N Waffles in South Los Angeles. While the incident took place on September 12, 2022, the trial started on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Reportedly, the jury for the case consists of four women and eight men.
During the trial, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Timothy Richardson gave an opening statement describing the tragic incident. Timothy stated that the authorities have surveillance proof of Freddie Tone, one of the primary accused, asking his son to walk into Roscoe's Chicken 'N Waffles and rob and shoot PnB Rock. However, the accused’s attorney, Winston McKesson refuted the claim, as he stated:
"My client, Freddie Trone, did not pull the trigger. He was not inside the restaurant at the time. This charge of murder is the most serious charge. We have to have evidence to support it".
The ultimate medical drama is HERE
The teenage son and man have been accused of PnB Rock’s fatal shooting, and the duo was also arrested in the same month of the murder. The Philadelphia rapper, whose real name is Rakim Allen was shot while he was having lunch with his girlfriend at the restaurant.
Los Angeles Police Department alleged PnB Rock was killed due to the valuables possessed at time of murder
The PnB Rock murder case has left social media users remembering the deceased rapper. Many internet users remembered how the rapper was brutally killed while he was enjoying a meal with his partner. The Los Angeles Police Department had reportedly stated that PnB Rock was murdered because of the valuables he possessed at the time.
This is worth noting, as the father-and-son duo held for the murder of the rapper have also been charged with robbery, apart from first-degree murder. The police reportedly said that an Instagram post made by the rapper's partner while the rapper was enjoying the meal tipped off the murderer about his whereabouts.
During the first trial, Freddie Tone, the key suspect in the case, did not plead guilty to the charges of murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit a felony. XXL Magazine reported on July 24, 2024, about a third person being allegedly involved in the murder— Tremont Jones— who, as per the prosecutors, was the person responsible for ousting the location of the rapper to Trone and his son.
However, when alleged, Jones also pleaded not guilty. The defence lawyer, McKesson stated:
"This is an unfortunate incident. This young man lost his life and a young lady who witnessed it will probably never be the same because she had to witness this horrendous crime. Everything you watch and hear will show you that unfortunately his son acted alone."
The lawyer also asked for evidence, asking the prosecutor about the evidence that his “client gave his son the gun?” XXL Magazine also reported that the teenager is being held separately and will return to the juvenile court on July 26, 2024, for another proceeding.
