Slipknot member Sid Wilson recently disclosed through social media that he met with an accident that led to a few injuries. He posted two videos on Instagram on August 24, 2024, leaving his fans concerned for him as he was spotted recording the clip from a hospital bed.
He revealed in the clips that he suffered a few burns on his face and arms because of an explosion that emerged from a bonfire at his farm. He also stated that he was "allergic to fire" and added,
"My eyebrows are signed. My mouth is blistered. My arms [are burnt] pretty bad – both my arms. I'm gonna be alright, you guys and I don't care what it takes, I will see you on tour."
The comments section of the post was flooded with best wishes from Wilson's followers. Most of them were spotted praying for his recovery and expressed their shock at the injuries that he suffered.
Sid Wilson's partner Kelly Osbourne shared more updates from the hospital
In the second video posted by Sid Wilson, he said that he was being taken to another facility and took the camera close to his lips, which appeared to be burned. He said that his hair would be shaved for further treatment, adding that he was fine. He continued,
"I will say, I do know better. So, everyone out there, be really safe when you're messing with fire. [It's] something I've dealt with tons of times. Of course, the one time I second guessed and go, 'Oh, I'll be all right…'"
While further updates are currently awaited on the incident leading to the injuries, Sid Wilson's partner Kelly Osbourne shared a few posts on her Instagram Story, where Wilson could be spotted cleaning some debris with a chainsaw, and the debris pile was later on fire.
Kelly even shared another video where she was holding her son Sidney and Sid appeared in the background where the doctors were taking care of him. Kelly was also heard saying in the clip,
"This is why you don't f*ck with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire and exploded everything."
Slipknot shared a statement on their Instagram page, saying that Sid Wilson is slowly recovering and would join the band next weekend for a performance at Rocklahoma.
Sid Wilson is busy with the ongoing Here Comes the Pain tour
Back in April this year, Slipknot announced the Here Comes the Pain tour to celebrate 25 years of their self-titled debut album. The tour was confirmed to have multiple stops, including the festivals scheduled to happen in the U.S.
The first two shows were in May 2024 at Daytona Beach and Columbus. The tour is to end with two more shows being organized at the London-based live music venue, The O2, on December 20 and 21.
The group's first album came out back in 1999 and contributed to making Slipknot a popular face among the public. It also grabbed the 51st spot on the US Billboard 200. The band's latest album, The End, So Far, came out in 2022.
