Well-known singer T-Boz, also known as Tionne Watkins, was recently hospitalized due to severe abdominal blockage. The hospitalization eventually led to the cancelation of the girl group TLC's performance, which was scheduled for August 23, 2024, at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.

The rest of the performances are also canceled for now and the band even announced the same through their Instagram page the following day. They revealed that while they were preparing to appear at the event, T-Boz began experiencing "sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps."

On August 24, the band additionally confirmed that she was taken to the hospital due to her health issues and continued:

"She remains in the hospital under medical supervision but is expected to be released tomorrow. The doctor verified this was not food poisoning but an abdominal blockage."

TLC even stated that Watkins was having regret for everything that happened and offered her apology to everyone. The band said that they would reschedule the remaining shows, expressing gratitude for their support. They also wrote:

"The decision to cancel was made under the advisement of her physician, who required her to stay in the hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition."

T-Boz has been battling a lot of health issues over the years: Recovery and other details explained

The Des Moines, Iowa native is popular for being associated with TLC throughout her career. However, she even struggled with several health problems that date back to the time when she was a child, including sickle cell disease. While speaking to USA Weekend in 2008, Watkins opened up on her experience with the issue and said:

"It feels like somebody is stabbing you over and over again. There are sharp pains in my legs, where I can't walk. Sometimes I have to learn to walk all over again. It can make a person feel belittled."

T-Boz later started taking treatment for the disease where she had to take folic acid alongside natural vitamins and walk on the treadmill for almost 45 minutes. Furthermore, she also had a brain tumor, which she did not reveal to anyone for a long time.

In an interview with Straight From The A in 2012, Watkins disclosed that the tumor was later removed. She addressed her experience with her health problems by saying:

"These experiences have taught me, and I want everyone to know, that you can be a survivor, even when it looks like you're against all odds. When I went to the first doctor to talk about my brain tumor, he wasn't getting into my livelihood, my life."

The 54-year-old said that although her tumor was removed, people need to learn and research as much as possible. T-Boz added that her recovery was not easy and was proud of herself for being able to fight the disease and support her daughter. She mentioned that her health issues helped her to support different causes and help patients dealing with similar problems.

Apart from her work with TLC, T-Boz has been featured in films and TV shows such as House Party 3, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Days of Our Lives, and Living Single.
