Popular rapper YG organized a peace walk in Compton with rival gang members on Sunday, August 18, 2024, to promote peace and unity. As the rapper marched in the hope of peace, he was joined by Treetop Pirus and Fruit Town Pirus. Furthermore, The Game also showed up at the peace walk.
Speaking to TMZ about the peace walk, YG explained why he kept it and elaborated on its purpose. He said:
“We came together. My hood and the Fruit Town Pirus across the street, we’ve been at war for, like, the last 10 years. We are just enemies. So I felt like we all needed to come together and walk down our main street. We're all from Piru so we don’t really need to be beefing with each other.”

“We’ve been doing that sh*t for years so it’s time to like… if we can clean it, clean it up. There’s been a lot of conversations about that sh*t so I put some energy towards it and we got it right.” He concluded: “It’s successful. All love and positivity. We outside.”
As the group completed the walk, they stopped at Tam’s Burgers for a meal. However, as the videos of the walk started going viral, many netizens recalled YG’s infamous feud with Drakeo the Ruler in 2021.
The bad blood between the two rappers began after they spoke ill of each other in several interviews. As the feud escalated, they even threatened to kill each other. After Drakeo's murder, widespread speculation emerged on social media, with many alleging that YG or some of his men were involved.

At the time of Drakeo the Ruler’s death in December 2021, many publications, including Sun UK, reported that he was involved in an ongoing feud with YG. The feud between the duo started soon after they started dissing each other on social media and started disrespecting one another in interviews.
As per Distractify, the rivalry between the duo started in March 2021. However, it escalated many folds when a video went viral in which Drakeo threatened to kill the rapper. In the alleged video, Drakeo the Ruler was heard saying:
"A rap n*gga going to get swiss cheesed he say one more thing, and they know that. I don't want no friends."
The beef then went on for months, and suddenly, Drakeo was killed at a backstage fight at the Once Upon A Time Festival in LA in December 2021. What made the fans doubt that YG could be the murderer was the fact that he was one of the performers that night at the festival.
However, the Brand New rapper has not been formally or officially accused in connection with the case, and this remains a theory among netizens. Throughout the years, he has not addressed the alleged feud or the death of Drakeo the Ruler.
