Young Dro and T.I. recently appeared for an interview on The Breakfast Club on October 14, 2024. The conversation grabbed a lot of attention since the duo almost got into a dispute with each other.

Notably, Young Dro was speaking about his drug addiction in the conversation and a member of T.I.'s entourage, K-Dubb, started laughing at one point.

Dro even addressed the time when he decided to enter rehab in Los Angeles to get rid of his addiction issues. Dro also stated:

"All these things happened. The overdose. My daughter was on drugs. And career-wise, I wasn't where I wanted to be."

He also revealed how things changed for him after coming out of rehab after a few months and mentioned:

"It was cool. I got back out and I was still tempted to live that kind of life. But I saw what was in front of me and I was like, 'This is more valuable than what's behind me.'"

While Young Dro was heard laughing, he replied by turning towards the latter and said:

"Aye, you finna get slapped. I mean, we cool, but I'll slap the sh*t outcha 'bout that … I'm just telling you."

However, K-Dubb decided not to remain silent, telling Dro that he wouldn't slap and Dro responded by saying:

"What you wanna do?"

The situation was about to take a worse turn when T.I. intervened between the duo and said:

"Aye, look! Everybody that came in this motherf*cker wit' me, remember who came in with! Remember what we're doing here, man. Come on, man. Let's get this sh*t together, bruh. Aight?"

The conversation continued without any interruptions and Young Dro apologized to T.I. towards the end, saying that he "shouldn't have taken feelings to that."

Young Dro has opened up about his addiction on a few other occasions in the past

Also known as D'Juan Montrel Hart, he spoke up on his addiction problem when he appeared on the Baller Alert Show in June this year. He said that his manager and expert in mental health, Dr. Sierra, assisted him in becoming sober, adding that he even maintained a distance from any kind of negative influence.

He even addressed his journey to sobriety while speaking on VladTV in January last year. He revealed that had been "100 percent clean" for around two years and continued:

"I think my mindset changed. It's still a struggle to actually maintain this because I still live a Hip Hop party life. I go out at night. I pay my bills out of clubs and concerts where my peers are smoking and drinking, popping champagne. And that lifestyle is still there."

Young Dro also opened up on his father's addiction issues, adding that his mother's family was also impacted by the same since she lost five of her siblings.

Back in 2022, Young Dro said in an episode of the Big Facts podcast that he developed a drug addiction after being introduced to it by a peer.

He also stated that his daughter began using drugs at one point and although he tried to enter rehab with her, the attempts were unsuccessful. Dro said that his music did not change after getting sober and added:

"The studio times are more cleaner. My girl don't got to worry about crazy stuff like getting those calls like, 'Dro up here spazzing, you know. He smoking all in the studio, and he just bringing all these people in here.' It's a better feeling now."
