50 Cent discusses Drake’s legal petition against UMG in interview
The Candy Shop crooner discussed various topics, including Drake’s beef with Kendrick Lamar. At one point, he brought up Champagne Papi’s petition against Universal Music Group, where the latter alleged that the label used illegal means to boost the streams of Kendrick Lamar’s Drizzy diss track Not Like Us.
Fif theorized that Drizzy was doing his best to ensure that Not Like Us does not make its way to the NFL in February, as Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to perform in New Orleans for the same.
“Sue Apple, sue Universal. Then have your attorneys contact NFL corporate and say- ‘look we don’t want you guys to involve yourselves in this nasty lawsuit going on. You guys are the biggest live sporting event. Don’t put yourself in a situation where you’re a part of the damages.’” 50 Cent opined.
This is not the first time 50 Cent has addressed Drake in an interview this year. In an interview with Billboard in October 2024, 50 discussed the latter’s beef with Kendrick Lamar. He said:
“I was telling him [Drake], it’s not him. I’m listening on the outskirts, it’s not you. Don’t let yourself think that for a second. On some real sh*t, I said, ‘They said you lost, okay. Well what did you lose?’ What exactly did he lose, if he got $300 something million on his last tour? You didn’t lose a motherf**king thing, man.”
