Fat Joe recently talked about staying out of the ongoing drama between Remy Ma, his long-time friend and collaborator, and Papoose.

On Tuesday, December 17, Math Hoffa shared a video clip of an upcoming episode of his podcast featuring Fat Joe. In the six-minute-long video, Joe spoke about how he wasn't getting involved in the conflict taking place between the rapper couple.

When asked on the podcast about whether he mediated the conflict between Remy and Papoose, the Money Showers rapper said:

"What I can’t do is stop it, or they won’t listen to me"

Fat Joe continued:

"The first time she ever asked me for advice, I said, ‘Listen, it’s different. You have a husband, this is your husband’. Nobody come to my house, tell my wife sh*t. This is your husband, I can’t get in the middle of that sh*t."

The YouTube video has since received over 125,000 views. Per news outlet Coming Soon, a public spat between Remy Ma and Papoose began last week on December 11. The Thug Love rapper posted alleged screenshots of chats between her husband and world champion boxer, Claressa Shields, claiming that Papoose cheated on her.

Responding to her allegations, Papoose called Remy a "narcissist" on his Instagram handle, adding that she allegedly "chose to cheat" on him repeatedly and has also apparently denied his requests for a divorce. Both rappers have since deleted their social media posts.

Fat Joe said Remy Ma made him love Papoose

Elsewhere on the podcast, Fat Joe agreed managing his relationships with both Remy Ma and Papoose presented him with a tough situation. Then emphasizing his bond with the Ghetto Student rapper, Joe said:

"Because of him, she made me love him... I really love him that’s my goddaughter’s father. It’s a whole bunch of, you know, I’m like, I try to tell y’all I’m old school morals and sh*t. So like with me, it’s like, damn, like I’m the godfather. These people pass away, I raise the baby. I don’t like none of that sh*t."

Fat Joe also mentioned on the podcast that prior to the day of Remy's Instagram post accusing Papoose was uploaded, they had dinner together at the Brooklyn Chophouse, where the Melanin Magic rapper treated ten men to dinner.

Joe then returned home and fell asleep, waking up the next morning with his phone "going crazy" with their mutual friends telling him what had happened. He added that Remy Ma had never told him about her "personal relationship business" in the past.

Joe went on to talk about the rapper couple's daughter, who was also his god-daughter, saying:

"My goddaughter is the most beautiful kid in the world. She’s so… you know, I wish this didn’t happen."

Moving on to the subject of shielding children from public drama, Fat Joe also reflected on his own past experiences, recounting how his son reacted to his infamous beef with 50 Cent. He said his son was "fighting n***as" at school every day back when the beef was still ongoing.

In his Instagram post, Papoose also mentioned his 6-year-old daughter, writing that he didn't want to do "the social media foolishness" for her sake since she had to go to school. The rapper also accused his wife of clout-chasing on social media, rather than handling it like "civilized adults".

According to a Vibe article published on December 12, Remy Ma and Papoose started dating in 2004, exchanged vows over the telephone in 2008, and have been married since. The couple welcomed their daughter, later named Reminisce Mackenzie, in December 2018.
