The talent agent for Tenacious D has officially declared to let go of Kyle Gass due to the growing backlash over his remarks advocating the reported attempt to assassinate Donald Trump. The band's international tour has also been canceled.

During their Sydney performance on July 14, Black gave Gass a birthday cake and then requested-

“Make a wish."

To this, he responded-

“Don’t miss Trump next time.”

Now, due to Kyle's remarks, Michael Greene of Greene Talent, which had been representing him, informed TMZ that they would no longer be representing him.

The School of Rock actor Jack Black’s Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass is currently facing backlash after making a joke about an alleged near-miss assassination attempt on Trump's life.

For the unversed, Trump narrowly escaped a gunshot wound during a Pennsylvania rally on July 13, where shots were fired around 6:15 p.m. local time, and Trump was seen holding his bleeding ear as Secret Service agents rushed to him.

Gass's talent agent dropped him soon after the incident and the remark thus he is currently dealing with the fallout from his comments. On July 17, Gass' bandmate, Jack Black, also declared that he would be stopping all upcoming projects with Gass and canceling their global tour.

Uploading an official statement on his Instagram, Black further said that he was "blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday."

He then added-

“I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form. After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

Later, in response to the negative feedback on his comment about Trump's attempted assassination, Kyle Gass also apologized on his official Instagram account. Gass said that the statement was "a terrible mistake, highly inappropriate, and dangerous."

Addressing his comments on the former US President, Gass also wrote in the statement-

“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone.”

Kyle Gass added-

“What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”

The duo was scheduled to play in Newcastle on Tuesday evening, July 16 as part of the band's Spicy Meatball Tour. However, the event was abruptly canceled on Tuesday afternoon.

Frontier Touring, the concert promoter, expressed their disappointment on their official Instagram account, and announced the postponement of Tenacious D's performance at Newcastle Entertainment Centre tonight.

They further said-

“Ticket holders are asked to hold onto their tickets until further information is available.”

Details regarding the remaining dates of Tenacious D's tour and the process for fans to obtain refunds will be made available at a later time.
