In the ongoing Young Thug and YSL trial, Lil Woody was recently questioned by the defense team. The state concluded the questioning for the Fulton County trial on Monday, August 26, 2024. During their questioning, as reported by FOX 5, the lawyers presented phone call records that Woody made while being in jail.

Recently, record executive J Prince was also mentioned while Woody was giving his testimony. Fulton County Deputy DA Simone Hylton asked Lil Woody if he had previously mentioned to the cops that Young Thug wanted to be the "next J Prince of Atlanta." To this, Woody replied that he might have said something similar and added that he didn't know who Prince was.

This didn't sit right with Prince who then uploaded a post on Instagram sharing the courtroom footage, and wrote a caption that read:

"Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to fake-a** people putting my name in their mouth. But I still find it very interesting how some prosecutors will go above and beyond the call of duty to try and destroy a man’s life for being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself. Btw, Black-on-Black racism feels the worst.."

The record executive seemingly took a dig at Hylton. She further emphasized the allegations that Lil Woody had lied to the cops during police interviews repeatedly. To this, Woody responded by saying,

"I told you for the 10th time. I’m gonna tell the police anything, and that’s what I did."

Over the past few months, Woody has admitted several times that he had lied during the police interviews related to the Young Thug trial. FOX 5 reported that according to Lil Woody, also known as Kenneth Copeland, said those back in 2015 to keep himself out of trouble.

Lil Woody claimed that he lied in the police interviews linked to the Young Thug trial to keep cops away

In June, Vibe reported that Copeland revealed the reason behind his alleged lies in the 2015 police interviews related to the trial involving Young Thug. The outlet reported that according to Copeland he was getting locked up by law enforcement officials several times for any reason that they could come up with. He then added:

"Every time I come out the door, the police was on me, and they keep bringing up Thug’s name. So what I did was to get ’em off me, I said, ‘Thug did this. Thug did that. Thug,’ because I knew they were — I knew he didn’t do it."

He had also addressed the court and revealed that he was "good at lying." This claim came from Woody after prosecutors tried establishing an accusation that he was truthful when he mentioned that Young Thug used a particular vehicle while he allegedly murdered Donovan "Nut" Thomas.

Lil Woody was reportedly expected to be a key witness in the trial. However, he was later declared as a hostile witness. Just like several times before in the trial, Copeland kept answering the questions by mentioning "I don't know" or that he couldn't recall, even when they were made by Young Thug's attorney Brian Steel.
