As the popular Texas rapper Enchanting passed away on June 11, 2024, many netizens have raised their concerns over Gucci Mane’s record label titled 1017, under which the rapper was signed. Social media users are now revisiting the statement passed by Lil Wop, who was also represented by the same label.

In an X post from February 28, 2022, Lil Wop cleared up the rumor about his departure from Mane’s record label. He said:

"I'm Not Signed To 1017. I Got Out My Contract With Them In 2018. And I Don't F*ck With Gucci Mane He's A Weirdo!”

As many netizens brought up the fiasco and stated how Lil Whop was amongst the artists who were removed from Gucci Mane’s label, he clarified in an Instagram post in 2022 that he left, and “didn’t get dropped.” He wrote:

"Just Had To Let This Be Known & I Didn't Get Dropped I left. That Sh*t Was Super Wack!"

Concerns sparked online after Enchanting’s death, as many users discussed about other artists who were signed to Gucci Mane’s record label, and are now either in prison, or have passed away.

Enchanting tragically died at the age of 26 after the rapper was rushed to the hospital for an undisclosed medical emergency on Monday, June 10, 2024. The next day, her sister Kay Jay broke the news in the evening that the rapper was no more. The Big Chant singer was signed to Gucci Mane’s label in 2020, and also appeared in the latter's song, Left on Read, in 2020.

Enchanting’s death came as a shock to rap lovers and her fans. She became the second artist signed under Gucci Mane’s label to pass away after Big Scarr. While it is known that Big Scarr died in December 2022 due to an alleged drug overdose, many publications like The Shade Room reported that Enchanting was also rushed to the hospital due to an alleged overdose.

The news caused disquiet among the internet users as many other artists represented by Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label have also been in the news for either being dropped by the music label or being in prison.

Many netizens talked about Pooh Shiesty who was sentenced to five years in prison for alleged federal conspiracy in 2022. On the other hand, El Reno is also serving his time in prison for reportedly being involved in a shooting case.

Moreover, another artist linked to Mane’s label, Foogiano, is under federal custody for allegedly cutting off his ankle monitor and violating his probation. Thereafter, Hotboy Wes is also serving 15 years in jail as he was charged with multiple counts of felony.

Netizens also brought up names of other artists like K Shiday, and Roboy, who were dropped from the label. Lil Wop was also dragged into the conversation. However, he cleared the air through an X post stating that it was him who left the label and was not removed.

While Mane has not yet spoken up about the concerns regarding his label, he did pay his tribute to the deceased rapper, Enchanting. In an Instagram post, he called the rapper a “true star.”
