Rapper Machine Gun Kelly recently shared details about his relationship with his mother in a conversation with Bunnie XO on her podcast Dumb Blonde's season 8 on August 5.
The rapper had written about his allegedly troubled relationship with his mother in his 2019 number, Burning Memories. He spoke about his mother leaving him when he was nine, leading to years of separation. The lyrics said,
“How’d you leave your only child at nine for another dude?/ All the years that you ignore me left me sleepless in the bed/ I hope daddy got some kids because your only son is dead/ I spent 20 years waiting on the stairs/ Now I’m finished thinking anyone’ll ever hear these prayers.”
In his recent interview on Dumb Blonde, Machine Gun Kelly admitted that he "misinterpreted" his mother and their relationship a lot. While he told his truth, he didn't give his listeners a chance to understand his mother's side of the story. The rapper said,
“I would like to say for the record I love my mom dearly and I misrepresented her a lot early in my career. And not misrepresented in the sense of not speaking truth. I was speaking my truth, but I didn’t give the masses the chance to understand her truth. “You gotta get to me… come f—ing find me no matter what it takes."
Kelly and his mother reportedly reunited in 2021 and wrote about the same on X. The rapper shared a photo with her on his social media in 2022.
