Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are accused of not paying a legal settlement to former security guard Thomas Weidenmuller. In January 2024, they were accused of assaulting him in a 2022 incident. Weidenmuller claims he argued with Minaj over her treatment of a female employee, during which she allegedly threw a shoe at him. He also claims Kenneth Petty later attacked him, influenced by Minaj.
The security guard initially demanded $700k in damages but had to settle for $500k as a default judgment after the couple didn't respond to the lawsuit. However, Minaj and Petty still have not cooperated and are allegedly avoiding the $500k settlement as reported by The Jasmine Brand.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Nicki Minaj has a net worth of $150 million while her husband, Kenneth Petty is worth half a million dollars. Minaj has sold over a hundred million records worldwide and was included in Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016.
However, the couple hasn't reportedly cooperated with Thomas Weidenmuller, dodging the $500k settlement since the judgment. Therefore, the security guard filed a memo of costs and a writ of execution against the couple in September 2024. These lawsuits have increased the settlement amount from $503,318 to $526,110.74.
Nicki Minaj accused Jay-Z of never paying her Tidal ownership deal
Nicki Minaj recently called Jay-Z out for not settling her financial claims stemming from her 2015 investment in his streaming service, Tidal. Minaj signed a deal with Tidal and stood next to juggernauts like Madonna, Rihanna, and others at a high-profile signing event in 2015.
On September 10, 2024, Minaj slammed Jay-Z in the comment section of a DJ Akademiks TikTok post.
"I didn't even get one red penny when no one promoted it more than me outside of Beyonce. lol chi," the rapper wrote.
However, Nicki Minaj's claims don't add up with the previous reports on Tidal's future. Jay-Z sold Tidal for a massive price of $300 million in 2021. According to a report by The Shade Room, all stakeholders received $8.9 million as compensation for their 3% stake, including Nicki Minaj.
Just a day before the Tidal accusations, Minaj lambasted Jay-Z's Roc Nation for choosing Kendrick Lamar to headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans instead of native Lil Wayne.
Minaj went on a rant on X, writing:
"Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!! Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. Sh*t sad. House N****R TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty? Nicki Minaj recently scrapped her much-hyped Gag City Reloaded deluxe version of Pink Friday 2, announcing the release of an entirely new album called Pink Friday 3.
