Rapper Nicki Minaj might be in the middle of a family drama involving her sister Ming Maraj. For the unversed, Ming has been doing quite a few interviews lately, talking about Nicki and the relationship they share. These interviews surfaced on the internet at the same time when Ming was trying to make her own place in the music industry, the latest being the We in Miami podcast where Ming opened up about being Nicki Minaj's sister.

Several audio clips of Nicki have made it to social media as well, listening to which people speculated that she wasn't necessarily happy with her sister's statements. While fans have been speculating, the rapper has not made any confirmation that she was actually talking about Ming Maraj.

Ming further issued a response through a comment on an Instagram post by the We In Miami podcast. The account shared Minaj's audio clip and tagged Ming. As per the comment,

"I still love her, I tried as a sister to please her but I realize I gotta please God first cause only he can judge the gift he gave me."

On August 5, the clips came up on StationHead, where Nicki Minaj could be heard saying,

"Why would a person speak on a person they love? Why would a person speak openly about a private person, why would a person do that, why would a person do that? Who would you speak about in your interviews if someone wanted to interview you? Yourself, right?"

The rapper further added:

"It's always a bad sign if a person who's not even in your line of work, someone who has never been successful in your line of work is doing interviews with people in your line of work."

Nicki Minaj further called out the mystery relative and asked them to find their talent on their own. She added that the talent that she had, belonged just to her and couldn't be passed on in some way. Nicki further described the relative as being a "mooch and a clown."

Ming Maraj opened up about her relationship with Nicki Minaj on the We In Miami podcast

In June 2024, Ming Maraj appeared on the We in Miami podcast and spoke about her sister, popular rapper Nicki Minaj. According to Ming, she had to face bullying for reportedly being related to the Trinidadian artist. In the podcast, Ming Maraj stated,

"Oh if this person was your sister, why didn’t she do this for you? Why didn’t she do that for you?’ And, it’s like, at a young age, it’s like, you don’t know how to answer questions like those."

She, however, confirmed that Nicki did check on her and their father on a regular basis. According to her, the rapper ensured that they were living a good life. Recently, Ming has been trying to start a career in the music industry. Nicki Minaj, on the other hand, seemed to have taken to the internet to call out a mystery relative, who was apparently being a "mooch."

In the June podcast, however, Ming had clarified that all her life she had never tried to depend on Nicki to do something in life. She further emphasized in the statement that she wanted the rapper to be proud of her. In the podcast, Ming continued by stating that she was never that close to Nicki, primarily due to the rapper's busy schedule. Ming Maraj added that there was no bad blood between them.

"We’re gonna argue. My sister gets mad at me. This is nothing new; siblings gonna fight," explained the popular rapper's sister.

Nicki Minaj has not officially spoken about the issue but the release of the recent audio clips on Monday, August 5 led fans to speculate that her comments were directed towards her sister, Ming. Despite so much mentioned by Minaj, it is still unclear as to who the rapper was talking about.
