After Liam Payne passed away, an autopsy was conducted to understand what might have led to his death. As per ABC News, the authorities revealed that the toxicology results showed that Liam Payne had consumed several drugs, including the one called “pink cocaine.”
Pink cocaine is a mix of several drugs such as meth, ketamine, ecstasy, and crack. CTV News reported that DEA agent Bill Bodner stated:
"The first piece that we almost always see in pink, or pink cocaine, is ketamine - a dissociative drug, something that makes people feel like they're detached from reality. The second component is psychedelics. Very, very cheap to make and they can kind of tailor the drug to what the drug user is looking for.”
It is worth noting that the designer drug has also been mentioned several times in the lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs. Reportedly, many infamous parties hosted by the rapper also had bundles of these drugs which were allegedly available for consumption by the guests.
The drug is also being linked to Diddy's ex, Yung Miami, who was accused in March of transporting pink cocaine. As per reports by The Hollywood Reporter, Diddy was the one who was allegedly procuring these drugs from Brendan Paul, who is reportedly the rapper’s drug mule.
For the unversed, Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of the hotel room where he was staying in Buenos Aires. While the reason behind the fall remains unknown, authorities reported that there were alcohol and drugs present in Liam Payne's room when they came in for inspection.
Pink cocaine originated in Colombia and has now spread globally: More details explored as the drug was found in Liam Payne's body
Pink cocaine, contrary to its name, includes MDMA, which is also called ecstasy, ketamine, and methamphetamine. A few variants of the drug also consist of fentanyl, LSD, and more addictive substances. Being marketed as a luxury drug, publications like Marca reported that pink cocaine sells for no less than $100 per gram.

Many medical experts have constantly warned users about these drugs, and have stated that an overdose of the same can be fatal. Dr. Nelson from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center spoke to Marca and explained:
"When I read the mixtures in the ingredients of this drug, I'm expecting agitation, hallucinations, psychosis, and hyperstimulation.”
As per WebMD, pink cocaine can also consist of enormous amounts of caffeine, bath salts, and even benzos. Common side effects seen after the consumption are confusion, feeling sick, high blood pressure, breathlessness, and seizures. Some of its long-term side effects include sleep problems, depression, anxiety, and memory problems.
