Fivio Foreign and Pop Smoke’s brother have made their way into the headlines after the latter hopped onto Instagram to state how Fivio no longer follows the late rapper on social media. In a video posted by Smoke's brother, Obasi Jackson, he claimed:
“Yo, I just woke up, but that is actually true. I just looked at his following; he’s not following Pop or Mike Dee. I mean, f*** Mike Dee. But Pop? Word? Fivio?! Yo, we gotta do something about this fake s***, gang. N****s not gonna show their face at Pop Smoke Day. What’s going on, bro?!"
This prompted a quick response from Fivio Foreign, who called Jackson “weird,” and stated how his own brother did not follow him on social media. Fivio said:
"That n**** is weirdo don’t believe s*** them cornballs that want attention say. Pop ain’t follow that goofball when he was alive. Tell him to stop goin pop smoke crazy after death for the clout boy hated his own brother and pop ain’t fuc* w this lame head a** n****".”
Fivio Foreign did not stop here, as he then posted a picture of him with Pop Smoke and wrote:
“What’s understood ain’t never been explained… Woo forever my movie.”
Pop Smoke, the 20-year-old rapper, was killed in Los Angeles during a home invasion. The incident took place in February 2020. Three years after his tragic demise, an 18-year-old admitted to killing him, as he stated that he was merely 15 years old when he fatally shot Pop Smoke.
“Don’t come on here asking me about no goofy Pop Smoke brother”: Fivio Foreign bashes Pop Smoke’s brother
Fivio Foreign and Pop Smoke were reportedly very close to each other before the latter's demise. However, four years after Pop Smoke’s brother brought up the topic of Fivio unfollowing Pop Smoke on social media, he bashed Jackson on his Instagram live session, as he stated:
“Don’t come on here asking me about no goofy Pop Smoke brother that Pop Smoke never even followed. Don’t ask me about none of them goofy n*ggas. Y’all talking about a follow. Look at this, I have ‘The smoke will never clear’ on my chest. Y’all talking about a follow? I don’t know how they unfollow. I know I went through a season of following zero people. I don’t even care.”
Fivio Foreign has often talked about his friendship with Pop Smoke and stated in many interviews that he misses him. During a podcast interview with Million Dollaz Worth of Game in 2022, Fivio stated:
“I was just in the studio with him, me, him and Polo the night before. He was in New York the night before it happened. He flew out and I didn’t know he flew out, so when I saw the shit on Instagram and I saw n-ggas reposting it, I’m like, ‘Why n*ggas posting fake news like that?’”
The two have also collaborated on many songs, including Showing Off, Clueless, Sweetheart, Zoo York, and many more. As the posts by Pop Smoke’s brother and Fivio Foreign continue to go viral, netizens have jumped into a debate, where many are siding with Pop Smoke’s brother, while others state that he is unnecessarily creating an issue.
