A massive yacht reportedly rented by musician and music producer Metro Boomin, per Local 10 News, docked behind the B**by Trap on the River strip club in Miami burst into flames on Sunday, January 19, in the early morning hours. Michael Marhefka, Director of Security at the B**by Trap told the news station that the boat arrived at around 3 am local time on Sunday, adding:

"The boat pulled up and they were on the boat maybe 30 minutes at the dock and we noticed what sounded like fire alarms going off. When we looked at the boat we did see some smoke inside the boat."

Strip club employees reportedly helped evacuate around 10 people or so onboard the burning yacht, including Metro Boomin and several boat crew. While firefighters continued to douse the yacht with water and foam for hours, it reportedly kept burning before eventually sinking into the Miami River around 7 am, per Local 10 News.

Videos of the Metro Boomin's rented yacht burning down also circulated on social media, inciting comments from fans.

"What's up with 2025 with fire accidents everywhere," a user on X commented.

Netizens pointed out the "wild," "crazy," and "alarming" scene, noting that a yacht doesn't simply catch on fire.

"A boat just don't catch on fire. It was either intentionally or there was something faulty within the mechanical system that sparked the fire," an X user said.
"That's quite the incident! A yacht catching fire is always alarming, especially when it's associated with Metro Boomin. Hopefully, everyone was safe and the damage can be managed. Stay tuned for updates on what caused the fire and if there are ongoing investigations," a user on X wrote.
"It was a wild scene... Glad there were no injuries but that's a crazing way to end the night," an X user added.

Meanwhile, other fans online brought up Drake to the narrative, bringing back the issue between the two music artists that resulted in several issues tracks and involvement in the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef.

"Drake enemies all for weird bad luck sh*t occurring to them lmao random as h*ll," an X user commented.
"Dam Metro Boomin yacht caught on fire at #BTs b**by trap on the river I just know @Drake bout to have a field day with this one," a user on X added.

Metro Boomin currently faces s*xual assault lawsuits

A rented yacht that went ablaze wasn't the only snag Metro Boomin has had in the last couple of months. The rap producer was also slapped with a r*pe accusation in a lawsuit filed in October 2024, further alleging that the lyrics in one of the songs he produced recount the incident.

38-year-old Vanessa LeMaistre filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles on October 29 of last year, seeking a jury trial and damages over the alleged r*pe that happened sometime in September 2016 at a recording studio in California. She also alleged that the rap producer indirectly referenced the incident on his collab project with 21 Savage and Offset, Without Warning, specifically in the song Rap Saved Me, with the lyrics:

"She took a Xanny, then she fainted / I'm from the gutter, ain't no changing / From the gutter, rap saved me / She drive me crazy, have my baby."

Metro Boomin has since denied the allegations via his attorney, who said they will "file a claim for malicious prosecution" in a statement, per Washington Post.
