Bloomberg Billionaires Index recently reported that Selena Gomez has reached billionaire status, as the singer and entrepreneur now has a reported net worth of $1.3 billion. They stated in their report that her fortune rose manifolds due to the success of her brand, Rare Beauty.
However, when Selena Gomez spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the same, she conveyed how “grateful” she is, however, she also expressed that she thinks it is “distasteful to talk about money.” Gomez said:
“I'm very grateful. I personally think it's distasteful to talk about money. But I really am giving all the credit to the people who buy the products. They're the ones that made this dream of mine come true. So I'm really, really honoured and just happy."
Born in 1992, Selena Gomez started working very early in life, as she was cast in Barney & Friends in 2002 when she was just 10 years old. She then worked in many TV shows and films, getting the most out of her success with her Disney breakthrough, as she was cast in Wizards of Waverly Place in the lead role.
Furthermore, Selena Gomez is also known for her several albums and hit tracks like Calm Down, Ice Cream, Love On, Love You Like a Love Song, Fetish, and Lose You To Love Me. Then in 2020, the singer founded her multi-million dollar beauty cosmetic company, Rare Beauty.

Founded just 4 years back, Forbes reported that in 2024, Selena’s Rare Beauty was valued at $2 billion. While at first, the brand was only available at Sephora Stores in North America, it has now reached many countries, including parts of Asia and Europe.
As the company grew, there were several rumors that Selena planned to sell her company, however, she dismissed all of them, as she spoke to Time Magazine in May 2024, and said:
“I don’t have any plans on that, genuinely. I will admit it overwhelms me sometimes. I have this weird thing in my head where if I focus on the numbers, I’ll lose whatever it is that made Rare Beauty Rare Beauty.”
Apart from this, Selena Gomez has also been working closely for mental health awareness, as she started the Rare Impact Fund in 2020. 1% of all the sales from Rare Beauty go toward the mental health non-profit. As per The New York Post, the fund aims to raise $100 million in the next 10 years to help cater to people in underserved communities.
Further, her endorsements with many brands like Adidas, Coco-Cola, Louis Vuitton, Pantene, Puma, Coach, and many more, have also fetched Selena Gomez a fortune. Additionally, she is popular for her albums, such as The Stars Dance, Revival, and Rare. The singer and actor has also appeared in films like Game Over, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, The Dead Don’t Die, and many more.
Gomez’s career in the entertainment industry has further strengthened with her Golden Globe-nominated performance in the hit show Only Murders in the Building, where she stars beside Steve Martin and Martin Short. The actor also serves as an executive producer of the show. According to Time, Selena reportedly took home “at least” $6 million per season for her role.
Selena recently appeared in the Spanish movie Emilia Perez, released in May this year, gaining a lot of popularity. In the film, she portrayed the role of Jessi Del Monte, who was loved by the masses.
