Slim Thug, who has previously supported Diddy amid his legal battle with Ventura, has now taken to the internet to apologize to the songstress. He said in an Instagram post:
“Damn Diddy I tried to ride with the Blk man who had no charges yet but I can’t stand behind this I’ll take this L. But I still will ride with my ppl until I see some sort of proof I don’t believe in blogs or civil suits Apologies to Cassie and whoever else was on the right side this time.”
Slim Thug apologized to Cassie Ventura after he took to his Instagram Live previously to opine that Ventura was attempting to financially benefit from making false accusations against Diddy. Thomas said:
“She got her bag, so everything was good, but I’m just saying that it didn’t sound like no abuser-victim to me. It sounds like ‘I needed that bag’ and she got it and everything good now"
Slim Thug criticized Cassie Ventura online before apologizing to her publicly
This was not the only time the Houston rapper had publicly spoken against Ventura. He reiterated the same sentiments in another Instagram Live as well, where he stated previously:
“They’re coming back and getting Bill Cosby and coming back and getting Puff [Diddy], I don’t believe in that. When sh*t go down, you speak on it right there. It should be null and void. Let them people know immediately. It should be a time limit.”
Slim Thug was referring to Cassie Ventura suing Diddy in November when she allegedly went through the assault between 2007 and 2018.
Slim Thug’s apology to Ventura comes after CNN obtained exclusive footage of her getting physically assaulted by her then-boyfriend Diddy in 2016. In the jarring clip, one can see the duo at Los Angeles’ InterContinental Hotel. Diddy was spotted running down the hallways behind Venture, just to grab her by the back of her neck and throw her on the floor. The clip shows him kicking her twice and dragging her before letting her go.
Diddy has not publicly addressed the viral video of him assaulting Ventura at the time of writing this article.
“Gut-wrenching”: Cassie Ventura’s lawyer addresses viral footage in statement
In an exclusive statement to CNN, Cassie Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, called the video “gut-wrenching” and described Diddy’s actions as “disturbing.”
Entertainment lawyer Camron Dowlatshahi also commented on the viral footage. He stated that:
“The video will embolden who are suing Diddy on behalf of plaintiffs who have accused him of violence and s*xual assault. They will aggressively seek to have this video admitted as evidence if any of their cases goes to trial. It’s rare to have smoking gun evidence"
Dowlatshahi made the statement after multiple others came forward to file lawsuits against Diddy for similar reasons. The rapper has vehemently denied the allegations.
