New evidence suggests Atlanta rapper and producer T.I.'s mistaken arrest for stalking and domestic violence might not be unfounded after all. On Sunday, August 4, 2024, the Live Your Life hitmaker was arrested at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport due to an active warrant from Baltimore for Clifford Harris.

Turns out, T.I.'s government name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. The rapper was booked at the Clayton County Jail stemming from a June 13 warrant. At the time, TMZ, citing Tip's attorney, Steve Sadow, stated that he was released just a couple of hours after his arrest, mistaking T.I. for a man of the same name.

However, on Thursday, an article by The Baltimore Banner suggested that it might not be a case of mistaken identity. Per the publication, the victim, Crystal Gorham, in her complaint, named Clifford Harris along with his birthdate, both of which matches that of the rapper's.

"I was threatened to be murdered by this individual"—Crystal Gorham about T.I.

Per the article by The Baltimore Banner, the woman in question, Crystal, initially filed a complaint against a woman in Baltimore for assaulting her on two separate occasions, adding that she threatened to blow her head and injured her knees.

At the time, the district court issued a summons (May 10) for the woman on two counts of second-degree assault.

A month later, Gorham filed a similar complaint on various charges, including first- and second-degree assault and use of firearm, among others, against the woman's husband.

"I was hit and beat up punched, stalked and harassed me on the dates I gave... I was threatened to be murdered by this individual," Crystal wrote.

This time, an arrest warrant was issued. Per the publication, Gorham named the man Clifford Joseph Harris, born September 25, 1980, the same as the rapper. She even listed an address on Pratt Street in Baltimore.

Following T.I.'s arrest, the court recalled the warrant and dismissed the charges, stating it highlighted flaws in the state system. A spokesperson for the Baltimore State Attorney's Office, James Bentley, stated they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the warrant and subsequent arrest, adding:

"This case highlights a concern that the State’s Attorney has raised previously and uncovers legislative changes that should be considered to ensure fair and appropriate use of the court commissioner’s office, including allowing input from our prosecutors before an arrest warrant is issued."

Additionally, per NBC 15 News, the state's office reviewed the rapper's travel itinerary at the time of the alleged incident to dismiss the warrant.

Notably, last month, T.I.'s wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by an anonymous woman, claiming Tiny drugged and assaulted her. The rapper's wife claimed the statute of limitations for the claim has expired.

TI has not publicly responded to either of the claims.
