American rapper Waka Flocka Flame was one of the latest celebrities who voiced his political inclination amid the preparations for the upcoming presidential elections. On July 31, Flame posted a series of tweets, extending support to Donald Trump, who is a Republican candidate and the former President of the US.
The rapper also mentioned in his tweets that while people might have different ideologies, and shouldn't be hated based on it. In the first tweet, Waka Flocka Flame wrote,
"Trump still my president I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets… didn’t push me this direction… this is my choice like I choose not to eat pork but do that make me hate pork lovers or disrespect their character…nor will I act like…"
In a follow-up tweet, the rapper mentioned,
"I just want my rights. My freedom, equality, men/women to pay for bad policing, women to have rights and make choices for self, teachers to be paid more, and the list goes on but hey I’m just a lil o entertainer with a micro voice I know no1 is listening."
While endorsing Donald Trump, the rapper also revealed that he stood for the empowerment of women's rights along with the notions of equality and freedom.
Waka Flocka Flame faced criticism after he told Biden voters to leave his concert in Utah, earlier in July
On July 2, the Grammy-nominated rapper was to perform at Club Sky in Utah's Salt Lake City. A typical concert performance was going on until Waka Flocka Flame halted in the middle of it. He then addressed the crowd and urged that amongst the attendees, whoever voted for Joe Biden, should leave. He said,
"All Joe Biden voters, get out of my concert. We're gonna party right now for T24."
He further reportedly joked about Biden's age and then said,
"We going to see y’all at the bingo game."
Flame received mixed reactions following the semi-viral tweet.
While some people in the crowd cheered upon this statement, a lot of others chose to not react at all, as reported by TMZ. This led to him being subjected to massive criticism on the internet, where netizens called out his behavior. One user tweeted,
"As much as I don't like Joe Biden this was wrong they paid money for a show like everyone else and while performing a show they should keep politics out of it."
Some conservatives too, took to X and expressed their dislike to the Waka Flocka Flame's statement and behavior during the July concert. One netizen stated,
"As a conservative, I think this is stupid…let people enjoy art without the political crap. I’m sure most of the music & movies I love are created by libs, cuz media. It would suck to go to a concert & be told to leave because I’m on the right. There’s nothing great about this."
While discussing the rapper's inclination towards Donald Trump, it is worth noting he received an award in 2021 from the Trump administration. The award was a "lifetime achievement award" for his philanthropic work with Daughter of Destiny, which is an organization based in Chicago.
TMZ further reported that Flame had also endorsed Donald Trump's 2024 White House bid. He has been in several photos alongside Trump. The photo shared above was posted by the rapper last October, where he expressed his trust in Donald Trump.
Many rappers have been endorsing Republican nominee Donald Trump
Waka Flocka Flame wasn't the only rapper to endorse Donald Trump. Just a few days back, Lil Pump even questioned Kamala Harris' ethnicity and mentioned that she was Indian and not black. Pump even made headlines after he got a tattoo of Donald Trump's mugshot on his thigh.
Several other rappers had extended support to the Republican party nominee for the upcoming elections. The list includes Kid Rock, Azealia Banks, Kodak Black, and Bandman Kevo.
