Internet personality and podcaster Jazmine Cheaves has responded to the backlash she received for admonishing her nearly four-month-old baby boy for screaming.
"Ever since April 22nd, I never played when it came to Blaze Javier Cheaves! The internet is a crazy place. I wish y’all would leave me tf alone. When I say I’m the best mom, I mean real life, not no IG sh*t!!" she wrote on her now-removed Instagram Story.
Cheaves mentioned how she keeps posting good "moments of me and my son," but all the internet wanted to indulge in was a "BS clip to make every blog."
Jazmine Cheaves’ comment comes in the wake of her now-viral Instagram Live, where she told her son, “Blaze, I told you you are not a girl, stop screaming,” as the kid was heard crying in the background.
Jazmine Cheaves claps back at critics for doubting her motherhood skills
On Monday, August 12, Jazmine Cheaves went live on social media and scolded her baby boy Blaze for “screaming,” telling him he was “not a girl.” Later, she addressed her audience and explained why she did that.
“Yes, this is what he does all day, he just yells... I don’t like when he do that screaming sh*t, he’s not a girl,”
In the wake of this, the Atlanta-based celebrity salon owner earned harsh criticisms online. When she caught wind of it, she took to the platform and clapped back at critics. She wrote in her Instagram Story that ever since her son Blaze Javier Cheaves was born in April, she has been the best mother to him.
Jazmine Cheaves continued by saying how she would no longer post about her son and warned her followers that if they asked her about him, they would get “blocked.” Jayda Cheaves’ sister also accused netizens of loving “making me look bad.” She called it “insane” and asked people to leave her alone.
“I love all the support I get from this internet… and family… Hate me, but don’t bring my child into [it] ‘cause he lives a great life & he loves his mama fasho!” she wrapped.
In a follow-up post, she also doubled down on her motherhood skills and called herself a “great mom.”
Jazmine Cheaves reportedly shares her son Blaze with rapper 600Breezy
During an early July episode of her live podcast Not Crazy: Just Misunderstood, Jazmine Cheaves claimed that the father of her son was rapper 600Breezy.
“My baby daddy — my real baby daddy — I don’t need no f**king DNA test, he don’t need no DNA test. His momma — everybody knows who the f**k my baby daddy is, my baby daddy… is 600Breezy,” she alleged.
However, at the same time, Jazmine accused 600Breezy of being a “deadbeat” father and claimed that he had not “reached out” ever since his birth. She added that she wanted “whatever’s best” for her son and would not force 600Breezy to be a part of his life.
“If you don’t want to be in his life, that’s cool with me. We’re perfectly fine, he’s still going to be so loved and still going to be well taken care of,” Jazmine stated.
She wrapped up by saying while she accepted the “situation” in her heart, she continued to “expect more” from him. Later that month, Jazmine Cheaves appeared on her sister Jayda’s podcast Act Normal and mentioned that ever since her podcast was released, the rapper got in touch with her and was doing “his part,” including taking financial responsibility and being an “active dad.”
Notably, in September 2022, 600Breezy appeared for an interview with Say Cheese and said one of his life’s “biggest regrets” was being unable to give all his children equal time, adding that he had “multiple baby mamas.”
