Danielle Peazer, the dancer and the ex-girlfriend of Liam Payne, recently opened up about the 1D singer's untimely death at the age of 31. She posted a tribute honoring Liam on Instagram on Saturday, October 19. She explained that she had been taking the past few days to process the news of the star's passing.
The dancer further mentioned that she isn't "mentally strong enough to face the reality of what has happened."
"In time I will share more, but right now I don't feel mentally strong enough to face the reality of what's happened," Danielle wrote.
For the uninitiated, the dancer and the British musician dated from 2010 till the end of 2012. People magazine reported that after being spotted at Elf on Broadway with friends in December 2012, the two reignited relationship rumors. However, in early 2013, things permanently fizzled out between them.

Liam Payne met Danielle Peazer at an audition in 2010, while he was a contestant on The X Factor and she was a background dancer. At the time, she was 22 and he was 17. In April 2011, Danielle posted on X that they were dating. Then in 2012, they went to the V Festival together.
She returned to the UK to run the 'Enfield 5k Race for Life.' However, rumors that Danielle Peazer and Liam Payne had split up first surfaced in September 2012, and Liam later verified the rumors.
According to The Mirror, the couple broke up because it was hard to keep up their romance as Liam reportedly traveled a lot for work. However, they got back together in late 2012 and got a dog named Loki. Nevertheless, they finally parted ways in May 2013,.
In an interview with Mirror Celeb on February 1, 2016, Danielle said that she and Liam Payne remained close friends even after their breakup. She mentioned:
"We're definitely on good terms but it has been three years, that's a long time now we've been broken up. We're both over it, we've both moved on, we're not going to sit here and slag each other off but it is what it is."
Danielle added:
"Yeah, we still support each other. It's nice. It's been three years now since we split up, so it's been a long time. We had a great time together and we're both very happy supporting each other, so I think we're all good for the minute." to
In another interview with Cosmopolitan on July 20, 2016, Danielle was asked about Liam Payne's relationship with Cheryl Cole. She responded:
"Love is love. Happiness is happiness. You just want people to be happy. They both seem happy, obviously I don't know her but I'm happy for them. I wasn't shocked when it came out because they're in the same industry."
According to Metro's report, Danielle and Liam Payne were spotted driving home together after a hotel party on June 16 2022 report, around 3 AM. However, they never said anything about that.
Now, after 2 years, the dancer again opened up in the wake of her ex-boyfriend's untimely death to pay her tribute. Calling it a "heartbreaking time" on Instagram, she wrote that negative remarks by the netizens had made the previous few days even more challenging.
She concluded the post:
"I will be back soon when I'm ready but until then please take care of each other."
Danielle then thanked his fans for their encouraging words and said:
"Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to call, text, or DM sending condolences and offering support. I'm so grateful and it's helped more than you know."
In the meantime, Danielle and her current partner, Sonny Jay, a former Captial Radio DJ, welcomed their daughter Mia in May 2024. Danielle announced the news on her Instagram on May 12 by sharing a video of the baby.
