Well-known rapper Jhene Aiko recently created headlines after claiming that Big Sean is not her husband. Notably, the duo has two children together and has not tied the knot until now. On Sunday, January 12, Jhene shared an Instagram post addressing the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, where she also lost her residence.
It featured a statement that reads:
"In gratitude always! It seems silly to mourn material things, but when those things are connected to precious memories, it is heavy. Grief is a tricky thing, but possession is an illusion, Nothing ever truly belongs to us. Things only stay the same for a limited time, always."
The post was flooded with multiple responses and a user commented:
"You and your husband are amazing people."
To which Jhene responded by saying:
"I don't have a husband."
Notably, the pair have been in an on-and-off relationship for almost nine years and while Jhene is yet to address the reasons for saying those words, netizens took to the comments section of The Shade Room's post on the same platform to react to Aiko's words. One of them seemingly referred to Big Sean by writing:
"Prime example of when a man thinks he's the prize. He's always gonna leave his options open."
Most of the users were spotted targeting Big Sean in the reactions, where they questioned the reason why he did not marry Jhene Aiko until now, with a user stating that Sean should have put a ring on Jhene's finger a long time ago.
Another person criticized the way people were speaking about marriage below the post, saying that it is not important right now considering that Aiko has lost her house in the fire.
Big Sean addressed the reason why he and Jhene Aiko are not married
Big Sean, who has been linked to rapper Jhene Aiko for a while, addressed why they haven't married yet. In an August interview on the iHeartRadio podcast Out of Context, when host Charlamagne Tha God asked if they had secretly tied the knot, Big Sean denied it.
Sean further stated:
"It's a little personal you know what I mean? But just like to be real with you, just like any people who have dealt with love, we've had our ups and downs, you know what I'm saying? And I think it's still finding the right navigation through it all."
Sean mentioned that there are a lot of things that need to be considered before marrying someone since divorce cases have witnessed an increase. He said that he is still prepared to tie the knot but does not want to keep his personal life in public view, adding that "there's a lot of work that needs to be done."
Jhene Aiko and Big Sean's love story dates back to 2012 when they met at the studio of record producer No I.D. and have been spotted together on various occasions over the years, as per People magazine. They also collaborated on some projects, including singles like None of Her Concern and I Know.
