On Wednesday (June 26), the Miami Beach Commission rescinded the honor of celebrating Sean Diddy Combs Day on October 13 amid the rapper's increasing legal woes. Mayor Philip Levine named the day in honor of the rapper in October 2016 during the third REVOLT Music Conference.

Amid Sean's legal troubles, Miami Beach issued an official statement on Wednesday stating that celebrating a day in honor of Combs no longer aligns with the values of the city of Miami. The Miami Herald quoted the statement as:

"Upon reflection, the Mayor and City Commission have determined that recognizing October 13, 2016 as ’Sean Diddy Combs Day’ is no longer in harmony with the City’s values of safety, community well-being, and respect, and wish to rescind the proclamation.”

Miami is not the first city to sever its ties with Combs. The New York City officials recently took back his key to the NYC because the rapper's assault video with Cassie Ventura came to light. The rapper has been facing multiple lawsuits accusing him of alleged s*xual assault and rape.

The rapper has been associated with Miami since the 2000s and made multiple nightclub appearances. The well-known REVOLT Music Conference was the rapper's idea, which he also inaugurated in 2016.

In March 2024, Sean Combs's Miami mansion was raided by federal agents reportedly about a case of s*x and human trafficking. The rapper is yet to be criminally charged.

Federal agents raided Sean Diddy Combs's Miami property in March 2024

On March 25, 2024, Homeland Security agents raided Sean Diddy Combs's properties in Miami and Los Angeles. The raids were about an alleged human trafficking investigation, as per the officials.

Homeland Security Investigation released an official statement about the raid:

"Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available."

According to CBS Miami, officials were still present at Diddy's Miami home in the evening after the raid was conducted in the morning on March 25. The property is on Star Island in Miami Beach. The rapper was not present in his Miami home during the raids but was apparently in the Miami area.

Before the raids, Sean Combs was last spotted in the Miami airport. Authorities reportedly intercepted his private jet while he was traveling to the Caribbean as per the New York Post. He was reportedly not spotted leaving his Miami mansion.

NY Post also reported the Miami police arrested that one of Diddy's workers after they had cocaine and marijuana. The federal agents reportedly left Combs's house with black bags, likely full of evidence such as hard drives and electronics.

According to the NY Post, several of the rapper's workers did not turn up for work on the day after the raid. One employee spoke to the publication and said:

"No one knows what the raid was about. Rumors are flying around. They already work us so hard, but the uncertainty is the final straw. The whole thing is a mess.”

The day after the raid on March 26 (Tuesday), Sean Combs's lawyers called the raids a "witch hunt" and "gross overuse of military-level force." His lawyer, Aaron Dyer's official words were:

"This unprecedented ambush —paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence— leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name."

Diddy's lawyers also stated that the federal officials treated Diddy's staff and children badly, claiming that there's no excuse for "hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated." The rapper's sons were reportedly asked to wait outside while HSA officials raided the rapper's Los Angeles mansion.

Aaron Dyer, the rapper's attorney, also mentioned that Sean's travel has not been restricted and no family member was arrested.

"Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way."

Apart from the raids, Sean Diddy Combs is facing multiple s*xual assault allegations and dealing with lawsuits in his name. His former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accused the rapper of r*pe, physical abuse, and s*xual assault in her November 2023 lawsuit. However, the concerned parties completed an outside court agreement shortly after that.

Sean Diddy Combs reportedly returned his key to New York City to the city hall on Monday, June 10, 2024, after Mayor Eric Adams requested the rapper to do the same. The committee nullified his key after the rapper's footage of assaulting former girlfriend Cassie Ventura came to light.

CNN released a letter from the mayor to the music mogul, in which he stated being disturbed to see the footage of the rapper assaulting Ventura from 2016. The committee demanded that Diddy's key to New York City should be nullified and taken back.

"I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. After internal deliberations, the Key to the City of New York committee recommended nullifying and rescinding Mr. Combs’ key.”

Sean Diddy Combs received the key to NYC back in September 2023 at a ceremony in Times Square on the day of the release of The Love Album - Off the Grid.
