Rapper Boosie Badazz recently shared his response to Kendrick Lamar's selection as the headliner for the Super Bowl halftime show next year. Notably, the news, which came out on September 8, 2024, has already led to much criticism from Lil Wayne's fans, stating that he deserved the position instead of Lamar. As per Lil Wayne's supporters, since the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show is happening in New Orleans, therefore artists from New Orleans should be invited.

Boosie Badazz, who is from Louisiana, posted an X post the following day and wrote:

"All yall acting like yall cool with how they playing it for the Superbowl smh the most cultural city n the USA (New Orleans). Its a smack n the face to every hip hop legend from Louisiana."

Boosie Badazz referred to fellow rappers Master P and Birdman, who also expressed support towards Lil Wayne, and wrote:

"This shows they never wanted yall to kick n the door n the first place cause they still tryna lock it. Superbowl 22'' was n cali n cali artist was allowed to do they than n it was a great show. But now its n Louisiana an no Louisiana legends cant do they thang."

Apart from Boosie Badazz, many other personalities such as Nicki Minaj have reacted after Lamar was announced as the headliner for the event.

During the latest episode of the podcast, It Is What It Is, hosts Cam'ron and Mase shared their reaction, with the former saying that while he likes Kendrick Lamar, but it is wrong not to choose Lil Wayne. He explained:

"It's not really a secret, Lil Wayne had a problem with somebody before who'd kind of part of the organization running it. This is payback. Who's Lil Wayne's artist? Drake … Lil Wayne not to be performing in New Orleans for the Super Bowl is egregious and it's gotta stop."

Boosie Badazz requests a pardon from Kamala Harris and Donald Trump

Boosie Badazz, also known as Torence Ivy Hatch Jr., has been in the headlines for his gun possession charges. In May 2023 he was arrested and charged with felony gun possession charge. This case was dismissed by a federal judge in July this year.

However, trouble for Boosie Badazz did not end since similar charges were imposed against him after U.S. Attorney Tara McGrath's office filed an indictment the same month. The accusations include firearm and ammunition possession by a felon in interstate commerce along with intentionally possessing a firearm and dealing with abuse of a controlled substance. The charges, if proven, might lead to a sentencing of 10 years.

In response to his legal troubles, the rapper said that he wants either of the presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, to "pardon" him.

He posted a statement through X on September 1 and wrote:

"My case got dismissed for a ruling that was made n the 9th circuit court. 2 weeks later the ruling gets vacated."

Boosie Badazz stated that he was sentenced to 10 years for marijuana without probation or being sent to rehab. He ended by writing:

"I got some powerful people who hate me with every bone in they body. I was sent to prison for 10 years for 3rd marijuana. for being a user lol no rehab ,no probation sent straight to prison At this point I need a pardon from whoever wins @vp (Kamala Harris) @realdonaldtrump"

Meanwhile, Harris and Trump have not responded to the post until now and further updates on the case are currently awaited.
