In a new Instagram Live session on August 22, 2024, Cardi B opened up about her living situation amid her divorce from her rapper husband Offset. The rapper, who is pregnant with her third child, revealed that she currently lives in New Jersey with her children, Kulture and Wave.
Cardi B also said that she was apartment hunting in New York City to be closer to work, adding she was "comfortable" in New York.
“I’m going to be coming to have meetings with my label like twice a week. And on top of that, I’m trying to get an office out here [in NYC]” she said.
In the Instagram Live session, Cardi B also admitted that she hated living in Atlanta, where she has a 5.84-acre mansion that she and Offset purchased in 2019 for $5.8 million.
“I only go to Atlanta like three or four times a year. And probably I go for a week, maybe less. I tried to move to Atlanta in 2018 and I lived there for like six months. And I hated it. I don’t have not one friend in Atlanta, and I don’t have not even one family member in Atlanta. So I just don’t like Atlanta,” she elaborated.
Cardi B's new album is slated for release in 2024
Cardi B's debut album, titled Invasion of Privacy, came out in 2018. Since then, fans are expectantly waiting for the rapper to release her sophomore album, and Cardi has promised to deliver.
In a tweet on July 18, 2024, the rapper promised her fans that a new Cardi album would come their way sometime this year.
"Sometimes I get a little aggressive because yall know I don’t like to be told what to do but I promise you it’s coming THIS YEAR. Thank you for the love and anticipation and always holding me down I love yall," she wrote on X.
So far, the rapper has not revealed the name or release date for her highly anticipated album. Since her debut album, the rapper has released a string of successful singles, including WAP with Megan Thee Stallion.
The song, which came out in August 2020, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track also made history as the first female rap collaboration to top the charts. WAP was originally released as the lead single from Cardi B's second album; however, it is unclear if the track will still be a part of the upcoming album.
While working on her upcoming album, Cardi B is currently pregnant with her third child and wading through a divorce with her husband of seven years, Migos rapper Offset. Cardi also recently had a health scare after a "freak accident" almost cost her her unborn baby.
During an X Spaces session on August 8, the rapper revealed she felt paralyzed after accidentally slipping and falling. She was rushed to the hospital, where she found she had torn the ligament in her pelvis.
"I dilated and I was having contractions for every two minutes for a whole 24 hours. So they had to monitor me and I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't move for two days straight," the rapper recalled of the ordeal.
Cardi B took to Instagram to reveal she was expecting her third child on August 1, 2024. This came a day after news broke that she and Offset were headed for a divorce.
