Rapper GloRilla from Memphis was awarded the Key to the City over Labor Day weekend during the annual 901 Day celebration, which honors the city's culture and history. Mayor Paul Young attended the ceremony.
GloRilla, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods on July 28, 1999, shared her excitement on Instagram with photos of herself holding the accolade. Celebrities including Megan Thee Stallion, Kid Capri, and Lola Brooke congratulated her in the comments.
She captioned the images, stating,
“Memphis made me, Frayser raised me. I got da key to my cityyyyy ahhhhh Happy 901 day MEMPHIS!!!!!!”
Several others congratulated her as well.
