On October 24, rapper Lil Durk was arrested in Florida for reportedly trying to murder the alleged killer of King Von, Durk's associate. According to Fox 5 San Diego’s October 25 report, Durk was taken into custody on the charges of murder-for-hire.

King Von, one of the rapper's close associates, was reportedly killed on November 6, 2020, by an associate of the rapper Quando Rondo. According to the same source, the court indictment, which was published after the arrest, alleges that,

“Co-Conspirator 1 made clear in, coded language, that Co-Conspirator 1 would pay a bounty or monetary reward, and/or make payment to anyone who took part in killing [Quando Rondo] for his role in [King Von’s] murder.”

Around 2:15 in the morning, King Von was reportedly shot and killed in Atlanta. This happened during an incident between Von and his group and the group of rapper Quando Rondo outside the Monaco hookah lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. As per Complex’s August 2023 report, Rondo's associate, Lul Timm, allegedly shot Von several times as the argument swiftly turned violent.

Rapper Lil Durk was arrested in Florida late Thursday, only hours after a number of his allegedly accused associates were also taken into custody. The Grammy winner is now facing charges in a murder-for-hire plan against rapper Quando Rando due to the latter’s alleged involvement in the 2020 Atlanta murder of up-and-coming rapper King Von.

The All My Life singer is presently being jailed without bond at Florida's Broward County Jail. According to the indictment acquired by TMZ and reported on October 24, federal charges were brought against Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston in US District Court in Los Angeles for allegedly helping Durk in his plan.

King Von had known Durk since his childhood and was a friend of the rapper. Von later joined Lil Durk's record company Only the Family after being released from prison in December 2017 and making his way into the music business. Following that, Von released a number of singles.

Beat Dat Body, the first of these singles, was released on June 17, 2018, and featured fellow Chicago rapper THF Zoo. Later, Von had an appearance on the Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved album, which jump-started his career on July 31, 2018.

He then went on to collaborate with Lil Durk on a number of songs and music videos, including Crazy Story 2.0, which was released in May 2019 and followed by a music video of the same on May 20, 2019. Furthermore, Lil Durk and King Von's joint track, Like That, was released on July 9, 2019.

On March 6, 2020, his second mixed tape, Levon James, which featured verses from NLE Choppa, Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, Lil Durk, YNW Melly, Booka600, and Yungeen Ace, was released under Only the Family. The 16-track mixtape was executive produced by Chopsquad DJ.

Then, on July 27, 2020, Von released a single with the rapper called All These Ni*gas. He later collaborated with Only the Family to release his debut studio album, Welcome to O'Block, featuring Durk, on October 30, 2020.

Almost one and half months after Von passed away, Lil Durk released his album The Voice on December 24, 2020, in memory of the rapper, who is featured on the record cover of the album and in the song Still Trappin.

Lul Timm, whose real name is Timothy Leeks, known to have been Rondo's friend, was accused of shooting and killing Von. However, in a statement provided to XXL on Sunday, August 20, 2023, Tim's attorney, Noah Pines, stated that the accusations against Tim were dropped. As per the same source, Pines said,

“The case against Mr. Leeks was dismissed prior to ever being indicted.”

According to XXL, Lul Timm was released from Fulton County Jail in March 2021 upon the posting of a $100,000 bond. He was to stand trial for the shooting while he was out on bail. However, it was reported that in 2023, the charges for the same were dismissed.
