Gucci Mane took to his Instagram account today to announce the death of his The New 1017 Records artist, Enchanting. The musician, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, was just 26 years old at the time of her passing.
Subsequently, many have expressed interest in Gucci Mane’s company, as she is not the only singer from the same who has died or is behind bars.
On Tuesday, 11, Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, took to the social networking site to say that Enchanting was:
“a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you.”
She reportedly passed away after being taken off life support. Her management exclusively told The Shade Room that she was placed in a medical facility after suffering from withdrawals and overdose. A member of the team told the news outlet:
“She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried.”
The official cause of death was not made public at the time of writing this article.
Meanwhile, fans of Gucci Mane have taken to social media to express their weariness over his The New 1017 Records, as members like Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are spending time behind bars while others have been dropped from the label.
Everything to know about Gucci Mane’s The New 1017 Records members as Enchanting passes away
Enchanting's death comes after the tragic passing of Big Scarr, who was also signed to the aforementioned company. The latter tragically passed away in December 2022 from drug overdose. Although he did not release his own album, he collaborated with numerous artists and released multiple singles.
Meanwhile, other members of Gucci Mane's label, including Pooh Shiesty and El Reno, are spending time behind bars.
Shiesty was sentenced to five years behind bars after pleading guilty to federal conspiracy charges in 2022. El Reno is also reportedly spending eight years in a correctional facility after being caught in a shooting case.
Member Foogiano is also spending time in a federal correctional facility after he cut off his ankle monitor and violated probation. He is to serve five years behind bars. This comes after he was found guilty of possessing a firearm after being a convicted felon.
Hotboy Wes, another artist from the company, was also sentenced on multiple felony counts earlier this year. He is now spending 15 years in prison after admitting to being a member of the infamous South California Crips street gang. One of his many charges includes a domestic violence count.
Two other artists, Roboy and K Shiday, were dropped from the label. The latter, who had collaborated with Enchanting on their Ball & Lead track, opened up about her departure from the label in an interview with The Medium in 2022. K. Shiday said:
“It was a struggle, I felt it was so much time from when the people saw me being with my last label and stuff like that”
Fans of Enchanting now await further information in regards to her passing.
For those uninitiated, she was born in Germany but was raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to her unexpected death, she had just released her Luv Scarred/No Luv album. She was certainly a rising star, as her song He Can’t Reach was featured on HBO’s Rap Sh!t season 2 soundtrack.
