50 Cent and Diddy have had a long-standing dispute, and an old interview of the former on The Breakfast Club has started getting a lot of attention on social media. A video of the conversation went viral on October 4, 2024, after 50 Cent reposted it on his Instagram account.
The interview also featured O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Gerard Butler. Notably, Butler has appeared alongside 50 Cent in the 2018 crime drama film, Den of Thieves. In the caption of Cent's post, he wrote:
"I just want to apologize for being heterosexual I understand it's offensive these days. I'm sorry I was born this way, I hope you can accept me in the new world. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi."
During the interview, Charlamagne Tha God referenced the fact that 50 Cent called Diddy "gay," and Cent denied it by saying:
"I don't call him gay."
Charlamagne then began reading a statement made by Cent about Diddy, also known as Sean "Love" Combs. The statement mentioned:
"Sorry I can no longer help you guys. Soon you will all be gay and happy. You are all now left under the leadership of Puffy Daddy. Report to the nearest rainbow."
Everyone present in the conversation, including Cent, immediately began laughing, who replied by referring to Diddy:
"He says things, he does not even know what he is saying like foodie. You know what I'm saying?"
The comments section of the reposted video was filled with reactions, with many users making fun of the exchange. One user referred to 50 Cent by saying that he should never change himself alongside another person, claiming that he was not joking even though it was looking like that.
Diddy and 50 Cent were close friends before they had a feud
Sean and 50 Cent began their careers together in the music industry and even collaborated on Sean's single Let's Get It. However, the duo's issues began after the release of 50 Cent's song The Bomb in 2006, where the lyrics implied that Sean was somehow linked to the death of rapper The Notorious B.I.G.
The problems took a worse turn when the pair started working for rival vodka brands, Effen and Ciroc. In 2018, Cent appeared on the Drink Champs podcast and claimed that Sean's brand, Ciroc, was not a vodka.
While the news of Diddy and 50 Cent's feud made headlines, the former stated on The Breakfast Club the same year that everything was fine between them. Sean also mentioned that Cent did not want to be his friend.
Sean's legal troubles began last year when his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of r*pe and s*xual assault. His problems escalated further when CNN obtained a clip in May 2024 showing him assaulting Ventura, leading to a lineup of reactions from different personalities.
Although Sean apologized for the footage in an Instagram video, 50 Cent reacted to it in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, claiming that Diddy was not telling the truth. He continued:
"When someone watches that, if they have a daughter and they can imagine her being under those circumstances, that sh*t is crazy. Like, they let him get away with it."
As Diddy faced a lineup of lawsuits allegedly claiming that he organized parties where s*x trafficking used to happen, 50 Cent, in the same conversation, claimed that he never attended any such parties. He added that he has maintained a distance from this matter since he feels an "uncomfortable energy connected to it."
Diddy was arrested on September 16, 2024, and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He is scheduled to be taken to the court on October 9, 2024.
