Almost six months after announcing her decision to part ways with American heavy metal band, Carla Harvey made headlines once again this week. Harvey was in the news after reports surfaced that the vocalist would be joining the popular Belgian electronic music group Lords of Acid.
She confirmed rumors surrounding her new partnership with Lords of Acid via an Instagram post, where she stated:
"I had three favorite bands in high school: Guns N Roses, Pantera, and Lords of Acid. Each one shaped me and uniquely influenced me as an artist. LOA had me hooked from the moment I heard I 'Sit on Acid' as a teenager dancing the night away at Detroit’s goth Industrial Haven City Club."
Lords of Acid's manager Marc Jordan spoke on Carla joining the 90s electronica act in a recent press release, confirming:
"Carla is set to begin recording vocals for the new Lords Of Acid album this winter and will be joining the band on a 27-date US tour in June."

Carla Harvey co-founded BUTCHER BABIES in 2010 alongside friend and collaborator Heidi Shepherd, with the band garnering significant attention in the metal soundscape.
The band later comprised guitarist Henry Flury, bassist Ricky Bonazza, and drummer Devin Nickles. Three years later, BUTCHER BABIES signed with Century Media Records to release their debut studio album on July 9, 2013, titled Goliath, placing the project at No.112 on Billboard 200.
Just over 14 years after their formation, in July 2024, BUTCHER BABIES announced the departure of lead vocalist Carla Harvey with a social media post that stated:
"Carla has been an integral part of our journey, bringing her unique talent, passion, and energy to the band. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors"
Carla would confirm her departure from the band in a separate Instagram post where she stated she was "super proud" of her work with BUTCHER BABIES, stating:
"Over the last 6 months, You may have noticed my absence from BB posts. After 15 years of dedication, I wanted to let you know that I will not be rejoining the band for any future endeavors. I am super proud of my work with Butcher Babies…2 EPS, 5 Full-length albums, and countless tours with our metal heroes!"
Carla Harvey's career started with her moving to Los Angeles from Detroit to pursue music before pivoting to showbiz. She hosted a cable TV news program, as well as picked up smaller roles in television shows, movies, and commercials.
Following her short stint in the entertainment industry, Carla Harvey decided to pursue and earn a degree in mortuary science, embarking on a successful career in embalming and funeral directing.
She was later presented an opportunity to co-found BUTCHER BABIES with Heidi Shepherd, which she revisited during an October 2024 appearance on The Ward Bond Show, stating:
"Well, after a couple years of working... I got an opportunity to start my band and go on tour for the first time in my life. So I had to make a choice in that moment. I've committed myself to this death-care career... Well, it ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me because our career just exploded, and so I got the best of both worlds."
In addition to making music, Carla has been known for her passion and affinity for comic books, with her even debuting a Butcher Babies comic, that explores themes of fantasy and horror, at a San Diego Comic-Con.
