Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen, best known for her global hit Call Me Maybe, has announced her engagement to Grammy-winning producer Cole M.G.N. Jepsen shared the news on Instagram on Monday, posting nine photos of herself and her fiance.

The announcement post was captioned, "Very engaged over here." This post quickly garnered thousands of likes and congratulatory comments.

Jepsen Carly Rae's fiance, Cole M.G.N. (born Cole Marsden Greif-Neill) is a record producer, songwriter, and mixer. He has worked with diverse artists, ranging from indie acts like Ariel Pink and Blood Orange to more mainstream names like Snoop Dogg and Beck. He has won six Grammy Awards for his work with singer-songwriter Beck.

Following Carly Rae Jepsen's Instagram post, her fans filled the comments section with emotional and heartfelt messages. Some creatively referenced her past hits.

One fan wrote, "He gives you fever you'll be feeling forever," nodding to her song Fever.

Many fans were quick to reference Carly Rae Jepsen's popular tracks like Guitar String / Wedding Ring, Call Me Maybe, and Cut to the Feeling in their congratulatory messages.

The famous Irish singing duo Jedward wrote, "I’m engaged so don’t call me maybe." Another fan referenced her 2023 album, The Loveliest Time, commenting, "Oh, this is the loveliest time."

Jepsen's fellow celebrities and musicians were thrilled with the announcement and also congratulated the couple.


Who is Cole M.G.N.?

Cole Marsden Greif-Neill or Cole M.G.N., is well-known as an indie Producer, mixer, as well as a songwriter. Cole has collaborated with artists like Ariel Pink, Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, Snoop Dogg, and Beck amongst others.

Cole M.G.N.'s contributions to Beck's 2015 album Morning Phase got much critical acclaim. For this album, he won multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), and Best Rock Album.

In 2019, at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, Cole bagged the awards for Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) and Best Alternative Music Album. He got these awards for Colors, the thirteenth studio album by Beck.

In 2021, Beck and Cole's album Hyperspace earned him another Grammy in the Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) category. Other than working in collaborations, Cole has also made his solo music. In 2016 he released his self-titled debut EP.

Before his engagement to Carly Rae Jepsen, Cole M.G.N. was married to American singer-songwriter Ramona Gonzalez, known by her stage name Nite Jewel. The couple split in 2018 after 12 years of marriage.

Reportedly Jepsen and Cole M.G.N. got to know each other through friends in the music industry but the specifics of their relationship timeline is not known. The couple had been mostly private about their love affair until this engagement was announced.


On the work front, Carly Rae Jepsen released her seventh album The Loveliest Time on July 28, 2023. The album was released while she was on her The So Nice Tour, for which she performed 69 concerts around the world between September 2022 to August 2023.
