The Republican nominee for the Fulton County District Attorney (DA) Courtney Kramer recently challenged current DA Fani Willis in immediately dismissing the Young Thug YSL trial. Kramer took to X on August 17 and shared the official statement, demanding the termination of the trial. Kramer also wrote that she was disappointed to see the lack of prosecutorial oversight in the case.

Courtney Kramer added that the entire Young Thug YSL trial only brought fame to DA Fani Willis and not justice to the community. She promised to "end the prosecution immediately" given she was elected as the next DA of Fulton County. Her statement read:

“I challenge my opponent to do the same thing, the right thing, and end this prosecution and release the accused in this case who are being held without bond."

Kramer added:

"If elected, I intend to restore justice, transparency, and integrity to the Office of the District Attorney and the dismissal of the YSL case will be my first official action toward that goal.”

Courtney Kramer is currently an associate attorney at The Katz Legal Group. In 2018, she worked under Donald Trump in the Office of White House Counsel. As stated on her own website, James Magazine named her one of the Most Influential Attorneys in 2021 and 2022, making her the youngest attorney to receive such fame.

She graduated from Georgia College and State University in 2015 with magna cum laude. Kramer is also a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

For the unversed, rapper Young Thug was indicted over allegations regarding their YSL record label in 2022. It was alleged that although the label's acronym stood for Young Stoner Life, it was Young Slime Life (a criminal street gang) in real.

He was booked under Georgia's RICO law. In the indictment, DA Fani Willis accused Young Thug of operating a criminal gang under the guise of YSL Records. The rapper is still under arrest and is going through a trial.

Time and again, the Republican DA nominee has argued that the Young Thug case should have ended by now. In her recent statement posted on X, Courtney Kramer stated that she was surprised to see so much of taxpayers’ money being spent on a prosecution based entirely on witnesses having zero credibility. She expressed her concerns and mentioned the goals she wants to achieve if she gets elected:

“Fulton County citizens should feel safe in their own homes, parking their cars on the street and shopping in their own communities. Victims of s** crimes should know that their elected prosecutor prioritizes spending taxpayer dollars clearing the backlog of r*pe kits and not prosecuting cases for media attention.”

According to Kramer, the Young Thug YSL trial was a loss of the court’s time. It was over-prosecuted by the attorneys who had also been admonished for lacking preparation. The present judge had also condemned the prosecutors for not following their required duties to produce exculpatory evidence.

Courtney Kramer concluded her statement by mentioning that it was not a fight between the right and the left but between right and wrong.

As stated on her website, Kramer plans to restore integrity in the DA’s office by championing justice and fairness. She envisages prioritizing community safety and combating politically based lawfare. An advocate for the protection of First Amendment rights and constitutional freedoms, Courtney Kramer is motivated to implement and uphold core values.
