DJ Boof was born and raised in Brooklyn

Clyde Joseph Jr., aka DJ Boof, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a teenager, he was influenced by DJ legends like Tony Touch, Funk Master Flex, and DJ Mr. Cee. According to his bio, DJ Boof dabbles in varied genres like hip-hop, Caribbean, jazz, pop EDM, alternative, rock, and R&B.

"I'm extremely happy with my time at The Wendy Show, starting from the very beginning and being there for 12-years. When I started that show there wasn't a DJ at all, and I created the whole party atmosphere- which allowed me to showcase my talent to the world, but it also brought a different type of light out of Wendy," he said about the show.

After quitting The Wendy Show, DJ Boof's roster expanded as he was called to DJ for high-profile events like NBA All-Star Weekend parties, NFL Superbowl parties, and the Lovers & Friends festival. The latter was filled with legends like Usher, Ludacris, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Lil Jon, Timbaland, and Lauryn Hill, to name a few.

One of his major career highlights included being invited to DJ events during amfAR's premier charity gala in Cannes, France. He is also the accompanying tour DJ for Nicki Minaj's ongoing Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

According to Hollywood Life, Minaj and DJ Boof have known each other for over a decade, having first performed at Villanova University.

“I’ve known Nicki for 10-12 years. We’re both from New York. She’s from Queens, I’m from Brooklyn. We’re both Trinidadian. I saw her do her thing on the mixtape scene. She was a young rapper, and I was a young DJ. There was a DJ before me, but we connected near the very beginning. The first show we did together was at Villanova University,” he said.

Not much is known regarding DJ Boof's professional life.
