Earlier this year, Dulce La Cantante underwent a surgery to remove a cancerous tumor

Dulce La Cantante's official Instagram account shared a video montage in her honor showing clips from her life and career. The caption read (translated):

"With a career that transcended borders and genres, Dulce became one of the most iconic voices Mexico has given, a legacy that makes us vibrate and reflect. But beyond her talent and her success, Dulce was a woman who taught us to believe in ourselves, to chase our dreams, and to never give up."

According to a March 2024 article by People Espanol, the songstress cancelled her Mexico City concert after being hospitalized. Later, during an appearance on the Mexican television show Ventaneando (TV Azteca), she revealed (translated by Google):

"I have a problem with my kidney. I think they call it a tumor and they are doing the relevant tests. Every day they are taking my blood to compare it with the previous day. Right now the doctors are very influenced by the results of the studies."

Per an August 31 article by the publication, Dulce La Cantante (on Ventaneando) further explained that the tumor was cancerous and had to be removed. At the time, she explained that the tumor was pressing on her lung, adding that after the surgery, her voice felt better.

According to a statement shared on her official Instagram account on December 2, the singer was hospitalized but didn't elaborate on the reason behind the development.

On December 5, 2024, People Espanol reported that Dulce La Cantante shared a statement on her Instagram to clarify (rumors) that the singer didn't have a collapsed lung or metastasis. It further explained that Dulce's condition was "delicate but stable," adding that she was scheduled for a surgery soon.

Her son-in-law, Moisés González, on a TV show, De primera mano (Imagen TV), revealed (translated by Google):

"We are all waiting, we are a little nervous; obviously, she more than anyone. But very happy, very optimistic."

González explained that she suffered from pneumonia and needed surgery. He added that Dulce was on pain medication that was keeping her exhausted and hospitalized.
