Who is Giulia Be? Brazilian pop star gets engaged to Taylor Swift's ex Conor Kennedy

Brazilian pop star Giulia Bourguignon Marinho, best known professionally as Giulia Be, got engaged to Conor Kennedy. He is the 30-year-old son of US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy and Taylor Swift's ex.

On August 12, the couple announced their engagement in a joint post on Instagram. They shared a series of photos featuring the pop singer's Tiffany & Co. diamond engagement ring as well as footage of when Kennedy asked the singer to marry him.

In the video, the duo can be seen dancing in a darkened room with candles on the floor, celebrating their big moment, and Giulia can be heard saying:

"I literally can't believe this. I'm dreaming. This is a dream. This is a dream. I'm so happy. This is the best day ever. And I love it that we're both sweaty and after work and gross and disgusting. It's perfect."

For the unaware, Giulia Be is a Rio de Janeiro-born and raised pop singer who has released several English songs like Too Bad and With You.

In the post caption, Giulia wrote that it's the "easiest yes of all time." Her engagement ring features a pear-shaped diamond that supposedly represents "tears of joy," according to the luxury jewelry design house's website.

Giulia Be's career and relationship with Connor Kennedy explored

Giulia Be debuted as a singer With You in 2018 under Warner Music Brasil and was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2021 Latin Grammys. Two years later, she received another Grammy nod for her song Aviso De Amigo.

Besides their joint post, Giulia Be also shared her own Instagram post with a closer look at her engagement ring to celebrate her birthday on August 13. The singer just turned 25, and it seems like she celebrated back-to-back after Kennedy proposed the day before.
