Popular Grammy award winner Jack Jones has tragically passed away at the age of 86. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Love Boat singer’s stepdaughter, Nicole Whitty, confirmed the death and stated that Jack breathed his last on Wednesday night, October 23, 2024.
His family stated that at the time of his demise, he was at Eisenhower Medical in Rancho Mirage, California. The stepdaughter also confirmed that the singer passed away after battling leukemia for two years.
Jack is survived by wife Eleonora, whom he married in 2009, daughters Crystal and Nicole Jones, stepdaughters Nicole Whitty and Colette, and three grandchildren—Grace, Mercer, and Agnes.
Jack Jones started his professional career in 1958 with his father
Born in 1938, Jack started performing as soon as he finished high school. He performed for the first time with his father at the Thunderbird Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, after which he was signed by Capitol Records in 1959. He then released his first album, This Love of Mine, which became extremely popular among the masses.
In the coming years, he released other albums namely Lollipops and Roses, Gift of Love, Bewitched, Wives and Lovers, The Jack Jones Christmas Album, She Loves Me, Dear Heart, Our Song, Without Her, If You Ever Leave Me, I Am a Singer, and many more. Further, Jack released his last album, ArtWork, in 2023.
Many of his singles like Poetry, The Race is On, The True Picture, A Day in the Life of a Fool, Lady, Live for Life, Follow Me, Sweet Changes, Games of Magic, What I Did for Love and many more also topped several charts globally.
Furthermore, Jack gained much appreciation for his work in the form of awards and nominations, as he won several accolades, including the Awit Award and the Grammy Awards. Apart from this, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, along with a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs, California.
Coming to his personal life, Jack Jones was married numerous times before, as he first tied the knot with actress Jill St. John in the 1960s. However, their marriage ended after a short while, and later in the 1970s, Jack got married to Gretchen Roberts. After the couple decided to call it quits, Jones married Kathy Simons in 1976, however, parted ways 6 years later, in 1982.
After Simons, Jack was also married to Kim Ely till 2005. Thereafter, he married his now-wife Eleonora in 2009 and settled with her in Palm Springs, California.
As Jack Jones passed away, the family is devastated by the tragic loss, however, they are yet to share details about his funeral and memorial services.
