Jen Myers was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2016
Jen Myers was born in January 1975 in Amherst, NY, to Paul and Peggy Belliotti. According to her obituary, Jen was skilled at playing violin and had an "envious collection of mix tapes."
The radio personality attended Windermere Boulevard Elementary School and Amherst Central High School before pursuing English at Binghamton University. Jen also enrolled at the University of Buffalo for a graduate degree but left in her final year to be with her future husband, Ryan.
Jen Myers married Ryan in 2003, and together they shared two children, Finn and Nora. According to her Facebook profile, Jen Myers was first diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in May 2016.
Her obituary stated that Jen "combined her love of words and passion for music into a 26-year career in radio." She began her career in 1998 at CBS Radio’s Modern AC, Alice 92.9, in Buffalo. A year later, she took up a position at Saga Communications as the music director and midday host for Star 102.5 in Des Moines.
In the early 2000s, she returned to CBS, where she became the music director and morning co-host at Y98. She held the position for 15 years. According to Myers' Facebook posts in March 2021, she became the Assistant Program Director for both Y98 and AC 102.5 KEZK.
"Her voice was what St. Louis woke up to, and her candor and personal stories about infertility, parenting, and her cancer journey endeared her to an entire city. Everyone felt like her friend," her obituary read.
Additionally, Jen Myers was a vocal supporter of various causes, raising thousands of dollars for organizations such as Pedal the Cause, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation, and Pink Ribbon Good.
In honor of Jen's memory, her family will host a public visitation at a local church and a private memorial service. Her obituary urged people to donate to Pedal the Cause, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and Pink Ribbon Girls instead of sending flowers to her family. A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help her family.
