Alesana, an American post-hardcore band based in Raleigh, North Carolina removed drummer Jeremy Bryan. The group announced the news through a written message on their official Instagram and X accounts on November 2.
The band revealed they came to know about some allegations against Jeremy. They did not disclose the nature of the allegations, but clarified:
"Alesana does not condone the actions alleged nor will we condone any retaliation from our fan base towards the person involved."
For the unversed, Jeremy Bryan joined Alesana as a drummer in 2006.
Alesana apologized to fans for failing to provide a "safe and positive environment" in their concert pertaining to this matter. They extended their sympathy for the victims affected by this "offense", adding:
"We're so sorry this happened and that you've had to carry this with you."
The other five Alesana members signed the message — Dennis Lee, Jake Campbell, Patrick Thompson (Pat), Shane Crump, and Shawn Mike.
Although the exact allegations against Jeremy are not known, some TikTok and Reddit users claimed the 37-year-old drummer had allegedly solicited a minor. No other information on the same is available at the time of writing this article.
According to the Reddit posts, the alleged incident involving Jeremy Bryan happened three years ago. Seemingly, fans are also not aware of the details.
In a January 2010 interview with Modern Drummer, Jeremy spoke about his journey in the music industry. Before becoming an Alesana member, Bryan had played the drums for several bands and went touring for the first time at 16. He said his parents were also musicians, making way for him to be around music from an early age.
Jeremy said that he tried his hands at drums before he was even able to form full words, adding:
"Drumming has been in my blood since before I can remember."
Jeremy shared that he had a favorite song in his childhood — The Beatles' Maxwell’s Silver Hammer. He took drum lessons for nearly three years and perfected his skills by practicing every day.
"Playing on stage with older cats who, in most cases, have been playing longer than I’ve been alive really taught me a lot. Learning how to follow cues, play through changes, and improvise on stage has been invaluable to me in every situation I’ve played in," Jeremy Bryan told the outlet at the time.
Alesana had six current members including Jeremy Bryan until his removal
Alesana was formed in October 2004 with Shawn Mike, Dennis Lee, Daniel Magnuson, Patrick Thompson, and Steven Tomany as the founding members. After releasing their debut EP and going on tours in 2005, a new drummer Will Anderson joined the band in Daniel's place.
The following year, Alesana welcomed another new drummer Jeremy Bryan, replacing Will. Another new member Adam Ferguson joined the band around the same time, who was in charge of rhythm guitar. In 2007, bassist Steven Tomany also left.
Shane Crump joined the lineup in 2007 as a bassist and briefly left in 2008 before joining again in the same year. Jake Campbell was added to the band to play the bass guitar in Shane's absence. Upon Shane's return, Jake was moved to rhythm guitar.
Jake Campbell also departed with the band in 2010 and Alesana had Alex Torres to fill in for him. Alex was asked to leave in 2012 as Campbell rejoined the band.
Alesana has had six members since then — Shawn Mike as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Patrick Thompson as lead guitarist, Dennis Lee as vocalist, Jake Campbell as rhythm guitarist, Shane Crump as bassist, and Jeremy Bryan as drummer.
However, Jeremy's removal now leaves the band with five existing members. The 37-year-old has not released a statement on the same. He also seemingly deleted his Instagram.
