Who is Katie Waissel? Former X-Factor contestant slams Simon Cowell in tribute to Liam Payne 

As the news of Liam Payne’s death continues to be in the spotlight, Katie Waissel left the masses shocked as she paid a tribute to the singer and slammed Simon Cowell in the post. In a post on X, Katie Waissel said:

“My heart is completely torn to shreds right now, I am at an absolute loss for words. If Simon Cowell dare put a statement out on the heart-wrenching, tragic loss of my dear and darling friend Liam, he would be a fool. We all know the truth… and I’ll be sure it all comes out.”

While Katie did not talk about the reason why she mentioned Simon Cowell’s name in Liam Payne’s tribute, however, it is known that Liam auditioned for The X Factor when he was just 16 years old, as the instance took place in 2008.

However, as he returned in 2010, his singing left the judges super impressed, and Simon Cowell informed him and his fellow contestants, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson that they were now part of a band called One Direction.

Katie Waissel is a popular singer, who auditioned for The X Factor, during the show’s season 7. She later released many albums and also appeared on UK’s Celebrity Big Brother. Born in 1986, Katie Waissel also formed her band, Red Velvet Lovers, in 2011.

On the other hand, for the unversed, Liam Payne passed away after reportedly falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires. As per CNN, the 31-year-old star’s death took place on October 16, 2024.

In 2009, Katie Waissel gained attention through her participation in Green Eyed World, an interactive online reality show. During the series, Waissel released a five-track EP titled Songs from Under the Covers under her label KatieVRecords and shot a music video for her song Live and Learn.

Following this, Waissel continued to expand her presence in the entertainment world, making appearances on Vanderpump Rules. She later embarked on The X Factor Live Tour in 2011 after gaining fame as a contestant on The X Factor. Waissel also released a single titled "Heroes," showcasing her musical talents to a broader audience.

Apart from her career in singing, Katie also completed a postgraduate law course, after winning a scholarship. She is also known to have founded OWHL Foundation, a charitable fund for human rights.

Buenos Aires police claimed that a man called 911 informing about Liam Payne being aggressive under the influence of drugs

As per CNN, the police in Buenos Aires reported that officers responded to a hotel in the afternoon on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, following a 911 call about a disruptive individual, possibly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

It is also worth noting that Payne was spotted in Argentina earlier, attending former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert on October 2.

Furthermore, the police stated that as soon as they arrived, the hotel manager stated that the staff heard a loud noise from the building, and the police discovered Liam lying on the ground. The police also discovered an audio, where a worker of the hotel can be heard calling for help. In the audio, the worker is heard saying:

"When he is conscious he is destroying the entire room and we need you to send someone."

As Simon Cowell’s name was brought in by Katie Waissel as Liam Payne’s journey to stardom started after he was discovered by the X Factor judge, many social media users are urging him to talk on the matter, however, at the moment, the TV personality has not commented on the incident.
