King Yella has recently been trending on social media because of his comments about cocaine and drug addiction during his latest YouTube live. The Chicago rapper publicly accepted that he was high on drugs during a YouTube livestream on August 18 and asked his followers for more drugs.
King Yella has carved out a niche for himself for his unconventional persona and controversial lyrics. Originally named Arron Clemons, the rapper was born in Illinois on February 25, 1990. His childhood was rife with gang activity and violence, with music being his only solace.
The rapper's musical journey began with his first mixtape, Street Life (2012), but his breakthrough track was a collaboration with FBG Duck on Slide in 2016. The rapper also released My Brother's Keeper in 2018 and dedicated it to his friends who passed away due to violence and other reasons.
However, the rapper's work has evolved over the years. From creating street-oriented drills, he has transitioned himself into a mature artist whose work focuses on social issues that affect the community.
The 34-year-old has also been involved in several feuds in his career. Some of the most prominent ones include his public beef with the members of the GBE (Glory Boyz Entertainment) crew, a longstanding dispute with Lil Jay, and many other social media fights with big names in the industry.
King Yella admitted to being high on cocaine on a YouTube live stream
Earlier this week (August 18), King Yella came live on YouTube to talk to his followers and admitted that he had been taking too much cocaine. After talking for over an hour, fans noticed that his nose was dripping.
Upon realizing this, Yella admitted that he was hooked on the drug and even pushed his face toward the camera to show his nostrils to his fans.
“I been doing too much cocaine. I go to stop that s**t. Cocaine been f*****g me up. It’s a good drug though,” he confessed.
He even asked his followers if they had any cocaine and went on an unhinged rant where he began chanting that he was a 'cokehead' many times. He also feigned snorting the drug and implored his followers to do it with him.
“Ain’t nothing wrong with cocaine, I love cocaine, that s**t be having me blitzed,” he said on the livestream.
Thereafter, King Yella asked for more coke from his followers, especially a pink variant of it that is allegedly available in Miami according to the rapper.
"Who got the cocaine?" he asked while scanning the comment section. "Yeah, I'm for real. I want some cocaine, n***a. Y'all know y'all got good cocaine in Miami!"
King Yella also posted a snippet of his YouTube livestream on his Instagram account on August 20. He asked his followers for more cocaine in the caption of the now-deleted post. The rapper also said that the drug made him feel so 'great' that he felt like 'Superman' when he was off it.
