MC Livinho, a music artist from Brazil, has sparked widespread outrage after a video surfaced showing him dancing behind a reporter during a live broadcast about an accident. In the clips floating on social media, MC Livinho can be seen dancing behind RJTV reporter Isabela, who was covering the story of a fatal accident in Serra das Araras, Rio de Janeiro.

As per Globo, the news outlet quickly cut the live feed when they noticed MC Livinho's behavior, switching to footage of the accident while the journalist continued narrating off-camera.

The accident reportedly involved a bus full of athletes from the Coritiba Crocodiles football team, which overturned, leaving three people dead, namely Daniel Santos, Lucas de Castro Rodrigues Barros, and Lucas Padilha. The bus had 43 passengers and 2 drivers.

“I didn't know that an accident had happened” — MC Livinho apologizes for dancing behind journalist reporting accident

Following widespread criticism, MC Livinho took to Instagram stories and expressed his side of the story. He stated that he was unaware that the journalist was broadcasting live about the accident and the deaths. He stated:

"Everyone was saying that an accident had happened and here we are, stuck in traffic. I didn't know that an accident had happened. Anyone who watched the first 'Mom, I'm on Globo' knows that I didn't know anything either, I asked for an opportunity to give an interview and then I found out it was an accident.”

He continued:

“Out of respect, I took the video down. I hope you understand. And I'm not going to stop being a reviewer.”

Furthermore, he then sent out a public message to the families of the victims, apologizing for his actions, and said:

“I would like to express my condolences for the loss you suffered. Now that I’ve gone online and seen that it was an accident. My condolences to everyone.”

As many lives were lost, several others are currently struggling for their lives. The injured were rushed to the General Hospital of Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense, and São João Batista Hospital, in Volta Redonda, as reported by The Sun. In light of the accident, the match that was scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro was also canceled.

After the accident, Team Coritiba Crocodiles issued a statement paying tribute to the athletes who lost their lives. The statement read:

"Our hearts are heavy with grief, and we ask everyone to send their prayers and positive energy. In the face of this tragedy, all our efforts are focused on supporting the team members and their loved ones."

As the news about the athletes losing their lives in the fatal bus accident continues to float online, social media users are mourning the loss. On the other hand, several others are constantly bashing the singer for his actions, even after Livinho’s public apology on social media.
