Shawn Mendes has seemingly become the topic of discussion online after addressing his sexuality at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado during a concert on Monday, October 28. The following day, he was spotted with his friend and fellow musician Mike Sabath in Los Angeles. This is not the first time the Treat You Better crooner has discussed about his personal life with the public.

Mike Sabath was born in Westchester County, New York. The pop artist was musically inclined from a young age and learned how to play the drums, clarinet, piano, and guitar when he was just a child.
His first original song, Hand in Hand, was written when he was in seventh grade for the Ability Beyond Disability charity. He managed to raise over $50,000 for the nonprofit organization. The John Jay High School graduate was accepted to Harvard as well. However, he deferred his admission to launch his musical career.
He stepped into the music industry with the help of his manager, Don Isaac, who also managed Justin Bieber at that time. In 2017, Mike Sabath went on to sign a deal with Sony/ATV Records, where he produced multiple songs for several artists.
In 2018, Sabath wrote and produced Familiar for late singer Liam Payne’s debut album, LP1. He has also collaborated with multiple other artists, as mentioned above. Sabath has also been signed to Warner Records.
A few of his original creations include his Being Human album, which includes original songs like Magic, I Know It’s Real, Who You Are, Stranger, Beautiful, and Being Human Part III, among other tracks.
As per Shawn Mendes’ fans, Mike Sabath has been spotted with the Stitches creator multiple times, including back in 2022 and 2023.
What did Shawn Mendes say about his sexuality? Details revealed
Shawn Mendes made headlines after addressing his sexuality in Colorado recently. As per fan recordings of the concert, the musician said:
“Since I was really young, there’s been this thing about my sexuality and people have been talking about it for so long. I think it’s silly because I think sexuality is such a beautifully complex thing, and it’s so hard to just put into boxes."
"It always felt like such an intrusion on something very personal to me, something that I was figuring out in myself, something that I had yet to discover”
Shawn Mendes added that he felt that he could freely express himself now and admitted that he did not “really know sometimes, and I know other times.”
This is not the only time Mendes has addressed his sexuality. The musician, who publicly dated Camila Cabello in the past, expressed in a 2020 Armchair Expert interview that it was frustrating to have his closest people question his sexuality. He told Dax Shepard:
“You want to say, ‘I’m not gay, but if it’d be fine if I was gay. But also, there’s nothing wrong with being gay, but I’m not. You don’t really know how to respond to this situation.”
Meanwhile, Shawn Mendes is set to release his self-titled LP on November 15.
